life seems so crazy right now mom will have surgery for uterine cancer on dec the 27 so the holidays seem to be slightly shadowed but at least we won't spend the holidays at the hospital. the surgeon also said he would be doing the surgery roboticly and that is was more advanced than the laproscopy times are changing so fast. trying to maintain my diet but have not found enough time to log my foods can't say that i have really been sticking to plan but have not binged and have been able to maintain my weight. hoping that the trip home will be enough incentive to put me on the straight and narrow would love to drop a few more pounds before going home to face every one.

Lifting your mom, you, and your family in prayer! Don't let going home worry you...you got this! And it won't be the focus of your trip anyway. Stay in your head, and in your zone...and you're golden. Face them with the pride of all you have accomplished, whether anyone notices or not...it is for YOU, not them...and you can do this! Love.

Prayers to you.. I know that's rough. I had thyroid cancer years back. Had my surgery on Dec 29th, so I know exactly what you are going through with the shadow over Christmas. Be careful with spending. With the stress of the "big C" looming, I SOOOO overspent that year. It took my mind off of the health issues and made me feel better, but the bill DID come and it was a stressor as I was healing from surgery. Just my 2 cents from my experience. Hugs and prayers...

My sister went through surgery for cervical cancer right after Christmas several years back. Of course, the upcoming surgery can loom over the holiday celebrations, but that's the time to really focus on the holiday and everything that's wonderful in your life. My prayers will go out for you, your mom, your family ...AND the surgeon!! What Jsfantome said is so very true. This trip is all about your mom and the family, so just hang on to the pride in your weight loss and, even though I know it's got to be VERY noticeable, just expect that your family may not notice and/or not make a big deal over it, and that's very much OK. You're still doing great and have made great strides in your life as well as in this weight loss journey. Drive carefully!!!

So good to hear from you Laura. Hope all goes well with mom. Your family will be amazed when they see you. You look AWESOME!!!! You will be fine when you go for your visit. Glad to hear that you have not gained. Once this is all done and over with, you will be able to re-focus on yourself. Prayers for you and your family through these trying times. Keep your chin up and be safe.:)

Glad to hear from you Laura. My prayers are there for your mother. No weight gain through this trial. You are one terrific gal. Look forward to hearing from you when you get home. I should be back to St. Louis late Sunday night. Praying for traveling mercies for you and yours.
