ATTACK OF THE VEGGIES...Today is 1 year that i started the SB plan...i went from 189.??? down to 162.2...i am hanging out there, doc seems to be ok with it...total loss of 27 pounds

it has been a year full of ups and downs...to start, 33 days after starting sb i broke my ankle and was in a cast from nov 3rd till jan 2nd...and then in a boot until april, surgery on the ankle in may and back into a cast until july 5th, boot until august 7th or so...and then learning to walk again...while not able to work out or put any pressure on that leg, i have managed to change my eating enough to allow me to lose 27 pounds...

a big, big, big thing for me was to learn to eat (and maybe enjoy) any form of veggies...i have a new appreciation for some of them...most of them are still yukkie...lol

clint and i went through a period of just over 6 months of deciding if he wanted to stay married or not and we came out the other side of that together and stronger for it...

we have taken 3 vacations on which i have done moderately well...no longer afraid of eating out or away from the house...

still going on is the nephew issue...found out last night that he has someone encouraging him to still do the drugs - He Can Handle It...right...so we have to work around that...but that too is something that will work for the good...

and last but not least...i have made great friends being on fs and have learned so much from everyone on this site...thanks guys...

i hope all of you have a blessed year on your journey to a healthier, happier and more fulfilled you...thanks again, julieann

Wow- this has been a huge year for you. You've done really well. The nephew issues sound tough for everyone involved. I hope the treatment plan works out for him soon. Keep up all the good work , and great news on you and Clint.

Julieann, thanks again for the summary. I forgot that you broke your ankle! Are you in physical therapy for it? Get as much as your insurance will allow, it'll help you recover faster. Hey, I think you did amazingly well...27 lbs despite a broken ankle!?! That's fabulous! Are you kidding me? Stop writting about it as if it wasn't much. Didn't know you & Clint were going through some issues. Thank goodness you guys got through it and are stronger for it. I'm a huge proponent of marriage therapy. My hubby and I have been seeing one for almost 5 1/2 years (only 3 more sessions left and we're done...yeah! Finally! LOL). It's the best investment we've ever spent, seriously. It really helped us get to know each other on such a deeper level. I'm glad that you fought for your marriage. Good for you! Your nephew, my heart goes out to him. Until November rolls around do you think it may help him to go to a 12 step program? I hear they are very helpful. I wish him the best, ultimately he has to want to help himself in order to get better. I'll send good kharma his way. =)

Dang, has it been a whole year? Wow. CONGRATULATIONS on losing nearly 30 whole pounds through being laid up and having surgery and your cast and boot and everything that you COULDN'T do for exercise because of that injury! You are a shinning example of how FANTASTIC you can do, in spite of serious challenges and injuries. Wow, way to go friend! I bet there are people here that have not lost that amount of weight and they did not have broken ankles and surgeries. I HOPE YOU REALIZE what a HUGE achievement this is. You need to hold up 3- ten pound bags of potatoes up to your body and take a picture, it's a great analogy of exactly how much fat you've ridden yourself of! Simply amazing! I truly am inspired by the fact that you accomplished all this while being laid up for so long and STILL not being able to do any of the regular forms of exercise that many people rely on. I can see your FS poster now, you on there with your bum ankle stuck out, with your new 30 pounds lighter body with this caption: "Able to still kick butt with my one good foot!" Im so happy to know your marriage also has overcome the challenge! Those vacations help, have fun on this one your taking too. I'll be thinking of ya both. I'm glad you made friends here too. This site rocks for that reason. I'm thankful youre one of my buddys and I'm thankful for all your wonderful help in challenges and on our project. I can always count on you! Your nephew will come out fighting. He has an Aunt that loves him and he knows this. More than half the battle is won with love. He is so lucky to have you in his corner and he knows you're there. Sorry I didn't get you an anniversary card, consider this..."it". Happy anniversary! You inspire, motivate, you're always there for others and you pulled off a great loss despite major set backs! WOW! You've done AWESOME! *Mwuah*

Happy one year anniversary. You have made such great positive changes. It's great that you worked through the marriage issues, and are stronger as a couple. You have done so well this year despite the major setback of your ankle injury. I appreciate all of the support and encouragement you've given me over the past few months. You are a wonderful person - and a great inspiration to me to stick with this and make it to my one year anniversary. A big hug to you.

Congratulations on a sucessful year!! Losing weight and KEEPING IT OFF is a huge accomplishment all by itself. Statistic show that most people gain back their lost weight within a year. This proves how fantastic you have done. With physical injuries and emotuional situations to deal with.. you sailed right through working at it, losing weight, getting things right. BRAVO!! You're FANTASTIC!

I am so happy for you Veggies! Your journal entry really touched me! I am not kidding! I am so emotional right now. SIGH! I had no idea that you had gone through such emotional times along with your thirty-pound weight loss. You are an inspiration to so many and I have decided that if you can do it -- I can do it too! Thanks so much! I hope that I am still with Fat Secret and with South Beach a year from now. The plan is a great way to eat and to live healthy. It really does take WORK though! Great job!

You've come a long way, baby! And against some pretty tall odds that were stacked up against you, to boot. Wow. You are an inspiration. If I ever start to feel low and try to use it as an excuse to give up, I'll remember you and force myself to keep going.
