HCB's Journal, 04 July 2013

I am thrilled to have a few days off work in a row! But, then I will have a 12 day stretch of work/training days.

We had dinner at the Greek restaurant yesterday and I did well choosing a vegetarian cold plate that was mainly tomatoes, cucumbers. feta cheese and some rice stuffed grape leaves. I did eat a pita bread, but it didn't send me over the edge. There were so many other things I could have ordered that would have blown the day, so I felt pleased with my choice.

We are planning to get out later with our bicycles and maybe park the truck near the fireworks site so we can ride our bikes all around and avoid some of the traffic at the end of the show. Or we might spend the day weed whacking, raking, and mulching!

I ordered some jeans online and when they arrived...they fit but are just too tight to wear! I am discouraged with the lack of change in my belly because they are not smaller jeans - but I am not exercising enough yet. So, the jeans will be my new goals pants, I guess.

Have a happy and safe day!

It's good that you can use the jeans as motivation. It's amazing what a difference 5 lbs can make in how clothes fit so I am sure you will slip into them very soon. Just remember to keep them where you can see them because I have had "motivation" pants before that I forgot about and didn't find them until I had gone a size smaller! Not the worst thing to happen but it feels like a waste. Great job at the Greek restaurant. Enjoy the fireworks!

What a great idea - riding bikes to the fireworks. Good exercise as well as a good exit strategy! Bet you'll be into those goal jeans soon.

Enjoy your 4th! Sounds like a great plan. Let's keep motivating each other to lose a lb or 2.

The jeans will be good motivation for you. My jeans gape open in the back but fit just right in the waist. I wished someone would come measure a real woman so we can get jeans to fit.

Yes, HCB, the jeans will be motivation. I, like you, had one day off for the 4th and am in the field until the 15th. Drag. Hope ou had good biking weather and fun on your bikes.

Hope you had fun biking or gardening. Both activities are good for you. Great job at the resaurant too. The plate sounded yummy! I agree with everyone that the jeans are a great motivator. Plus re-enforcement of all your hard work once they become comfortable to wear. Which I have faith will be sooner then you think. Take care
