DairyKing's Journal, 06 March 2013

Life is good. I had my annual physical exam yesterday, and it was probably the best one I have ever had. Every single number (of about 40) were spot-on where they are supposed to be. In the past, I always had one or two that were borderline, or a little high, but explainable. This time - perfect. I'm a perfect specimen . . . except I'm too fat.

I've been pretty obsessed with researching parts for my project truck. I get a little carried away sometimes with a new hobby. I didn't spend a lot of money; I'm just in the learning mode. I will have to fabricate quite a few things because they just aren't available - either original or aftermarket. I did talk my wife into buying me a nice floor jack for my birthday, so when it comes time to do things like lift the body off the frame, I'll be ready.

I thought I was going to have to pay the $20 this past Friday because I didn't make my goal. Fortunately, nobody else did either, and they decided to call it a "wash." So, nobody paid. Whew! If I can stay away from the pizza today, I can probably make my goal this Friday. I did have a gyro last night - with the cucumber sauce. Yum! I love those things. Note to self: Stay away from the food court at the mall. After work yesterday, I had to go pick up one of DW's rings that she had taken to the jeweler for repair. The food court got me; I'll try to eat light today.

We've had snow and freezing rain off and on for the last few days - probably only 2 or 3 inches accumulation altogether. Not much to bragg about, but every little bit counts. I think we are actually ahead of schedule on precipitation for this time of year. The birds are wiping out the bird feeders just about every day - what gluttons! I'm expecting to see a bunch of them walking around pretty soon - because they're too fat to fly.

Well anyway, I just thought I'd check in and let everyone know I'm still kickin. Ya'll have a nice day, ya hear. Toodles!

Great news on the physical! Those dang food courts are definitely trouble... I hadn't filled my bird feeders in awhile because the deer had been getting to them, but I filled them yesterday - the birds went nuts!! :)

if all you numbers are perfect, the fat must not be too much of any issue.

Congratulations on the physical! Soon, it will all fall into place. Working on your project will have you burning calories without even realizing it. Those are the best - weight loss and work accomplished!

Thanks guys! Jenny: A gyro is a Greek sandwich of thinly sliced pork (though I prefer the lamb version) in a folded up pita bread - usually with tomatoes and onions, topped with cucumber sauce (or Greek Tzatziki sauce). Jess: Like they say, "You don't want to lose all your fat; the brain is composed entirely of fat. You could live without a brain, but all you could do is run for public office."
