My body is having an argument with itself. Most of it wants to get up & do some Zumba (Wii version), but my left leg is achingly tight, despite application of heat and plenty of stretching. Part of my thinks thinks that Zumba will help, part of me thinks that I'd just aggravate my stressed out muscles.

I missed my Zumba with Gina class for a meeting that was called off 5 minutes after it was supposed to have started. Argh!!!!!! Once a week I get to Zumba with the best, and I missed it for no good reason. Management at my apartment building is flaky; we were told the meeting might happen later in the day but they couldn't say exactly when. I went shopping for dinner stuff & am at my partner's house listening to Pop Latino MC and my body starts moving to the music as I'm putting away clean dishes, gathering ingredients for dinner, playing with Beau.

I bought chicken at Whole Foods, and didn't manage to leave without a package of Pacific Northwest Kale Chips (which I ate for lunch). I went to two different Trader Joes looking for their kale chips, and was told at one store they were expecting them later in the day, and the other store told me that they were back ordered & they'd been trying to get them in for two weeks. The guy I talked to told me his wife's recipe for kale chips; in their opinion the nacho flavor of the store's kale chips was all you tasted. It's fun to talk to other people.

I think part of my pain came from the battle with the giant couch that ate my partner's phone a couple nights ago, LOL. The phone was no where to be found after my partner had reclined fully on the couch (a great big motorized double recliner that's about the size of a king sized bed; well, at least a queen.

I called the phone, and we heard it buzzing. Over and over again we called, buzzed, and crawled all over and under the fully reclined couch, sticking hands into tight spaces to see if a phone could have fallen through. We discussed cutting the fabric on the bottom of the couch, but couldn't pin down where exactly it was. I crawled behind the (400+ pound) as my partner tried to tilt it up a bit so I could look underneath, my body contorted. I met Beau behind the couch, looking for the buzzing, too.

We finally gave up and decided to call the store where the couch was purchased for some ideas of what to do. I went upstairs to use the foam roller on my aching leg in the room directly above the living room. I position myself, lying on the floor on the roller, poised to roll the painful outside of my thigh..... There, on the floor next to me was my partner's phone. I laughed so loud my partner called upstairs to see if I was okay. We both laughed a lot, then both rubbed our aching bodies with pain relief lotion and retired for the evening. :oD

Back to today; I feel antsy not exercising, but don't think I'm up to it. I feel hungry, but don't want to eat much when I'm not burning anything much. Uh oh, am I becoming diet and exercise obsessed? Maybe my knee could use a gentle bike ride on the recumbent bike in the garage.

Partner on way home after a bad day at work; I find I'm fighting some emotional eating push while actually being hungry. What a jumbled mess I am today! Hey, at least all my neighbors at the non-meeting complimented me on my appearance and several asked for diet & exercise advice (I've been getting that a lot lately). Don't want to blow a good thing, but I've got a Theo bar calling me from the pantry.....

Hope you leg feels better soon - I know how much you love your Zumba. I made homemade kale chips tonight. Not bad but too salty. Added cayenne pepper to some. Will experiment more.

OK - got some kale chips at Whole Foods,,,good. Trader Joe's DOES have Kale chips and they are pretty good, too. I am gonna make another attempt to make my own soon. Yum! Feel better, sweetie!

The guy at the second Trader Joe's told me his wife makes kale chips with their pre-washed and cut kale they sell; sprays the pieces with olive oil, sprinkles with seasoning, and bakes at 350° for 20 minutes. I have a large bag of washed & cut kale I was going to make a mess o' greens with, but I may just try making jalepeno lime cilantro kale chips with them. Though I did run across a recipe I found for greens braised in lite coconut milk, hmmm. My leg is feeling better, thank you both. Tomorrow morning I'll decide between Silver Sneakers or Zumba at another gym.
