CherBru's Journal, 17 May 2008

I have really slacked off the past couple of weeks in my activity level and eating. I'm not doing too terrible on my eating but my calories have increased. Before I lost any weight my bones were so achey and stiff. I am noticing that when I sit for awhile and get up I am getting stiff again.

To get more active I have volunteered to change my schedule to work 2 - 12 hours shifts/week on the cardio-vascular unit at the hospital and 2 - 8 hour days in the clinic. (I was doing 5 - 8 hours easy days in the clinic.) Now that will get me moving! Last time I worked there I lost 14 pounds! Of course I gained it back when I stopped working there! Making this move will also let me get my 40/hr work week in 4 days, giving me 3 days off. I'll like that.

I plan on shopping for lunches this weekend. I am hoping to get back on track. If I don't show a loss next week it will only be due to inflammation of all my joints! :-)

We had tornados last week. There was quite a bit of damage here. Luckily it just barely missed me. We did have trees down on powerlines and was without electricity/water for a few days. When I see all the tradegy in China it really makes me count my blessings!

176.0 lb Lost so far: 20.0 lb.    Still to go: 11.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 0.5 lb a week

Tornados :O Yikes! I'm glad you weren't hit with any damage. That must have been scary. And yes, that tragedy in China really puts things into perspective. Good luck with your new schedule at work. I hope it works out well for you and gives your weight loss the kick start you are looking for. Enjoy your weekend!

staying active is still a "chore" for me too. Its more habit now but I've discovered if I take more than two days "off" my exercise/activity I can "feel" the difference also. Glad you madeit through the tornados without any overwhelming damages. Hey, you've lost 20 lbs now!!! great going!!!

So glad to see a journal from you! I'm happy you are finally getting back to working the floor two days a week. That will definitely increase your activity level. Good job on shopping for healthy lunches. We are going to get back on track now and continue our journey towards that long healthy life we both desire!

Good to *see* you again! You did great only gaining 1/2 pound with all that stress, and having slacked off. Sounds like you're ready to get back on track now - the new work pattern certainly sounds like it'll help! You can do this, Cheryl!! :)

Sorry I haven't been around much! I hope we can get on the track together. Some C-A-R-D-I-O together maybe? Journalling is good too! Glad to see you here. Once I sit down at the computer the night is history! I think being here & talking to others helps me so much. I hope I help others. I know they help me! Let me know if I can be there for you!
