Lotus's Journal, 30 April 2008

Ok, I am in shock after seeing the scale this morning. I am a little hesitant to record it! Can it be??? Seriously?
Yesterday, I had already eaten most of my calories for the day by 3 in the afternoon.I woke up very early and it threw my appetite off, plus it was a stressful day and I sort of self-medicated(reponsibly! sort of..) with reduced fat ice cream and (low fat)brownies! After that I was going to try not to eat anything else, but after all my exercise, I was pretty hungry around 7:30 so I had an egg with fat free cheese and a bagel, bringing my total for the day up to 1870 calories. Now I am already a believer in zigzagging but I still always get nervous when I have my calories so high! It's hard to know what is going to happen, if I burned enough calories for the day or whatnot.
But this morning, the scale said..drumroll please...120.8!!! I can't beleive it! I broke through the 122 semi-plateau!
It better not go back up tommorrow, I will be so mad!
I guess it seems too good to be true!I have to at least maintain that the rest of the week, but my goal is 120 by weigh in!! I am going to work hard to make sure it happens!
The One Day Brownie and Ice Cream Diet..I can see it in bookstores now..;D
I will eat more healthfully today!
Although I will probably have a brownie..just not 4 (small) brownies and 3 scoops of ice cream LOL!
i'm happy today! I hope it's not a fluke!

Addon..Wanna hear something funny? I am so used to counting everything and measuring portions that I just now caught myself countin ICE CUBES!!!! Is that not insane! LOL!!!!

Great job. I think what is important is that we are focused on what we eat. One day of being naughty is okay as long as we recognize it. Keep up the good work.

I do not recognise that i was naughty. Brownies and Ice cream are a food group unto themselves! :D

Those are the best lowfat brownies I've made so far. I made a prune puree by boiling a half cup of prunes in water(enough to cover, adding more if needed) until softened, ccoling slightly, then puree in blender. You can also use prune baby food as weird as that sounds. I used a family size brownie mix from Pillsbury, which in the mix alone had 110 calories, 20 calories of fat for 1/20 of box. I used the puree instead of oil, and blended it with sugar free fat free intant chocolate pudding mix, and three egg whites instead of two whole eggs. For extra flavor I used strong coffee instead of water, mixed and baked as directed. They are good. MMM. If you cut a 13x9 into 28 peices they are 91 calories and around 1 gram of fat, but I cut them into 16 so they were more like 165, 3 grams. which isn't too bad cause those were big peices. Oh and I wasn't doubting my zigzag method, I was just saying, I was a beleiver already, but it's always scary to have a day like yesterday, especially unplanned! Have a good one!

OMG you are so close to goal!!! That's awesome! And I think every "diet" should have some wiggle room. If you can't give yourself a treat, you'll just fall off plan. Plus, that way you keep your body guessing! The ZigZag method is really working for you!

I doubt 0.6 grams of fiber could make that much difference. And if you make them, I don't suggest eating a TON..I used up all my calories early in the day and the rest of the day was HARD even using my max amount of calories. Not fun!
