Results of the 24-hour fast? I lost 2.4 lbs and didn't starve to death. In fact, after being on a very low calorie diet for so long the first 6 months of this journey, fasting wasn't so bad, actually felt quite familiar.

So my response is that I'll do it again! Probably once a week at least. Is this what I needed? I'll know more when my weight goes below 190, I haven't been able to get it down that far except for one day a couple of months ago. I'm also thinking that two meals a day is plenty, as long as they are LCHF so I don't get too hungry. I feel renewed!

Ok, the latest on dating....tonight I call old guy and give him the bad news, I don't want to see him...and Sunday I have a dinner/movie date with young guy. Very sweet, kind of old school for a youngster. But ultimately, I am waiting to meet "the one."

UPDATE: I am actually hungrier today that yesterday...that's odd, I had a good filling breakfast.
192.6 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 28.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

you commented that being slimmer gives more options - it's really too bad that that's true...I got lucky - I met my honey when I was close to my heaviest, and he fell in love with me anyway - I guess the old saw is true - "love is blind" lol - your 'white knight' is out there hun!! When you do the fast, what exactly do you do? I've been stuck between the same 4-5 lbs seems like forever...willing to try just about anything to shake the two-ones, and get into the two-oh's...and lower! fill me in, please? thanks, and good luck with young guy!

I do believe that it gives me more choices...not that the great guy I fall in love with wouldn't want me at any size, I just have more choices of who I choose to be with. It's kind of sad, but now I'm not making myself available to guys who don't have the same healthy lifestyle that I have, so I am not a choice for them. For the fast, I finished dinner Monday night, didn't eat anything else that night, had a little cream in my coffee Tuesday morning (cheat), and only had water and tea the rest of the day until dinner at 6:00 Tuesday night. Lots of research supporting going for periods of time with no food. I'm going to space my meals farther apart, eating only twice a day. Like you, I've been stuck for a long time and need to shake it loose!

I did intermittent fasting for quite some time (fasted from dinner to lunch where I only had a shake)... And it did knock some weight off.. But eventually it stopped... It was discouraging mainly since I couldn't eat less than what I was eating lol... I do believe in the benefits of fasting... I just think my body needed a change.. After stopping that I went to low carb, eliminating white processed carbs and sugars and increasing protein and the weight came off very steadily... Good luck to u in ur journey!.. Dont get discouraged if it takes time.. As long as ur doing what u believe is right for ur body it will come off!! I was stuck at 158ish for a couple months and finally dropped down after doing the same things consistently... If any time I can help feel free to hit me up!

Thanks thynes! I've had too much fun, ready to settle down. I don't think a 40 year old is where I am gong, though, haha. (But he sure is cute :-)

Nalomy, I've been on super low carbs for a couple of months now after 6 months of low carb/very low calorie. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in being "stuck" for a long period of time. I fasted for the same reason that you made a change. Since what I was doing was no longer working, I need to try something different. I guess I will continue to monitor, adjust, and work my way down to 150 like you! I may even be happy at 160, I'm 5'8" and a lot older than you. You look fantastic!

Ur probably still slimmer than me .. I'm 5'3 so every lb is important lol

Glad to hear the first IF was a success! I don't remember being cold when I fasted in the past, just crabby, lol. It was actually cooler than usual yesterday so maybe you were just feeling that.

That is great on the fast! Even if all of it doesn't stick I bet at least half does and that is still quite a success!! I am crossing my fingers that it all sticks. Sounds like you have a fun weekend already in the works! I know you will meet The One...probably when you least expect it. However, in the meantime it is great to get out there and have fun.
