notfast's Journal, 14 September 2012

Hello Everyone,
I haven't written much lately, but still track my food & exercise, which is very important for me. Sometimes I don't get quite everything listed on my food journal, but it does help.

Just thought I'd let you all know that I'm still around, and do read journals and make comments, maybe just not as much as I did.

Still appreciate all of you, and your comments ! I still want to loose at least 10lbs, would like more, but will start at 10, but I'm trying not to be so obsessed with my weight and consistently watching the scales. I feel pretty good, except for aches & pains that come with getting older & overdoing sometimes in yard work, but overall I feel fine about myself. I want to make the most of each and every day, and if I'm always feeling bad about myself for some reason, then I'm wasting my day. I do a lot of comparing myself to other people I see in stores, neighbors etc., and I've got to stop ! For 65 I don't think I look that bad, so I've got to be more positive about my image. As they say "you've got to be comfortable in your own skin"... so I'm trying :)

So all my FS buddies, I'm still here, just not journaling quite as much, so don't count me out, just not yet !

We'd never count you out! You have your 10 pounds, I have my 20. But we'll get through this! I see you have joined the Positive Attitude Challenge. I really think that is going to be a big help - attitude is everything!

Never will count you out... gee. If that were the case.... I would be obsolete! I know how you feel. You have so much to be thankful for and need to list those in your journal until you start to feel your spirits lift. My buddies in FatSecret are what keep me going. Stay positive... HUGS!!

This journal could have been written by me. Love to hear from you when you do get on here.

Doing everything you're doing at 65 is fantastic! When we compare ourselves to others, it will always be a faulty comparison because we only see the outside. The only thing to be concerned about is how we measure up to our own God-given abilities and the worldly challenges we encounter. Keep your head up!

Sandy is so right. Let's not compare ourselves to others. We are each unique. In a youth oriented society such as ours we sometimes think it's a sad thing to grow older. But there is joy and satisfaction in each day we are given. We can relax a bit and smell the roses. Yes, we have aches and pains, but there is a certain freedom we have at our age. XXXXX hugs!
