Lift Day Weigh-in
Day 7/11 Day Re-Comp

07 DAYS:.....11.2% @ 199.4# = 22.3# Fat & 33.13" Waist
GOAL:...........9.8% @ 192.0# = 18.8# Fat & 31.50" Waist
GAP:.............1.4%....................3.5# Fat &...1.63" Waist

So the good news is that I am almost happy in the mirror. Waist is still sloppy, but everything else looks OK. Good, actually,...in the right light, post workout, properly hydrated and carbed-up. Strength is up and moving again. Lifting every day with overall volume at 3-4X my typical minimalist program. Big 3 lifts are about 15% off my PRs, so not too bad for 10 weeks back after a 7 month lay-off. Really pleased with my Front Squat progress, not so much the weight, although I should PR shortly, but that I am finally figuring out how to do it properly (thoracic extension), have been gaining the requisite flexibility, and with lower weight, it actually looks OK.

The less good news is that my diet has been out of control since my last weigh-in. Not binging, per se, blowing my macros, or eating outside of my window, but near zero calorie control. With the increased lifting has come an enormous increase in appetite. Enormous. For the last three days I have averaged 3,000 kcal. I also jacked my carbs from <50g to >180g per day.

The interesting thing is that I have gained neither fat nor waistline during that time. Does that mean that at this work level my TDEE is 3,000k?!? Wouldn't that be nice!

Let's find out. I am going to attempt to go shake only for the next 4 days and maintain my workload. That should create about a 2,000k daily deficit. If my hypothesis is correct, I should shed a couple pounds of fat by my Friday morning weigh-in, which, if history holds, should drop my waist about an inch.

Let's go!

your high level work outs will definitely use up higher levels of calories. I am doing much lower level work and burning on average of 600 calories over my base calorie burn, so I can imagine how much you are burning. good job!

Sorry if you've answered this in the past but I wondered how you measure fat#? Thanks for being a guinea pig and letting us watch.

I want to eat 3k calories a day! How much do I have to lift? … That much?? Hmmm I guess that's not something I'm gonna be able to do :) :)

@Officially39 - I asked @jimmiepop that same question myself and he directed me to buy some "body fat calipers".

@officially I use a home ultrasound system called BodyMetrix, but you definitely don't need to make that type of investment to get started. If you shoot me a PM, I will send you the Amazon links to the starter kit. Or @adef can.

Thanks, all.

This is what @jimmiepop sent me: Easiest (and cheapest) way to get started at home is an accu-measure. I would get the myotape (for waist) and the calipers. Calipers - https://amzn.to/2L8jvTh MyoTape - https://amzn.to/2mc2jlj I have also used their FatTrack Gold, which was my first BF measurement upgrade - https://amzn.to/2L6IAOK
