I am giving up drinking Dr Pepper. One of my biggest sugar filled items that I consume on a daily basis. Those of you with stock in Dr Pepper might want to consider changing it to something else. It will be a big challenge for me as I drink probably (more like definitely) better than a gallon of that stuff daily. I don't even want to know the sugar conversion of what that equals to. Unsweetened Tea and water it is. Am I trying to convince myself that I can do this...YES I am. Will I be able to do this...time will tell.

I love Dr. Pepper too. I've switched to Diet Dr. Pepper if I drink soda at all because it tastes most like the "real thing" than any other diet sodas I've found. Good luck. I feel your pain.

When I started Keto in January, there was a day when my husband came outside from the gas station and he had picked up a Dr. Pepper in a fountain cup. for his sister, I smelled it and immediately burst into tears. It was so eyeopening for me, to see myself that dependent on something. I knew then and there, I would never drink one again. I wont even drink diet soda, it just isnt worth it to me.

Really good decision! I'm a Pepper too, and giving it up was tough in the beginning. After a while tho, drinking only LaCroix flavored soda waters (yeah, they taste strange at first) if I take a sip of DrP or Coke, it tastes like WAY too much sugar. You can do this, and you will be so happy you did!

I used to drink up to 4-5 mtn dews a day, every day. I haven’t had one in almost 2 months and am 2 weeks clear of caffeine/ pop completely. It’s hard at first but then you get used to it and feel so much better. Good luck. !

Good luck. I've tried quitting Dr. Pepper (if you drink any other soda here in Texas you'll get run out of town) many many times. It's addictive and one of the unhealthiest things you can consume... that's legal... or not regulated. It's tough.

I would drink a can of coke on a daily basis. I gave it up for water and unsweetened tea. It's only been 3 weeks but I feel better and I'm losing weight as well.

I think you will see changes very soon if you stick with it and don’t replace that sugar consumption with something else. I drink la croix for a cold bubbly beverage. No sweeteners or artificial ingredients. Just water and fruit essence. Good luck to you!!! You can do this!!! But

You got this! I was drinking Dr. pepper since 4th grade started out 2ltr on weekends by adulthood I drank 12pk every few days and was addicted, once I married I switched to pepsi strangely my husband never drank sofa and he did criticize my drinking. So I did give it up. 6 months now, however I can half a can or glass occasionly. What helped me was having large amount of water consumption and I drank Juice for the sweet flavor and sugars also 2 cups of coffee a day, slowly reduced the juices to none and coffee to 1 a day or sometimes none. wean yourself, remind yourself you are in control and let not the addiction control you. You got this!

The tea will probably cut the caffeine withdrawal. You can do this! Your teeth will thank you!

Make up some Stevia extract from the powdered leaves if you can. Add it to your tea if you are craving something sweet. It helps.

I gave up coke and I have survived so far. I'm a diabetic and still drank 1 a day. I drink only water and unsweetened tea now. Try to stick to it and you won't believe how much better you will feel. It's beee 9 days now.

I’m assuming you were kidding about the gallon of Dr. Pepper. That would be about 1600 cal (about 400 carbs) —- that would be no FAT SECRET. LOL

if you need motivation the dr. pepper sodas are made with GMO sugar it causes cancer diabetes high blood pressure just to name a few soda is just empty calories that provide no nutrition try finding an alternative like fruit for sweet Cravings coconut water is delicious carbonated water or chopped fruit in water...it it's hard trust me but you can do it :)
