When I slip up (quite often lately) I always ask myself if going back to how I used to eat is worth gaining the weight back. It’s not for me so I renew my commitment and strive to do better. Perhaps that motivational self talk would help you as well? Good luck and plz fine get too discouraged!

Try your best to forgive yourself, forget the slip, and refocus your attention. It is only a few days into the new month......you can do it.....

what I realized from experience is that when I "slip up", that loss of control comes with not tracking the calories. and If I actually even guess the calories, I realize the food wasn't as bad as I thought it was. sometimes I'm not even eating enough when I splurged and that's because I stopped counting.
you can check the calories...and even if you averaged 3000 Cal per day for a week...that's not very much in the long run.
so a one week planed diet break is nothing If you accept that's the plan and stick to it.
birthday cake is the gift that keeps on giving.

Life is very hectic :/. Try googling some healthy crockpot meals. You can feed your guests easily if you have a large crockpot. If you are like me and have 4, you can even make different sides so you can have one that fits your diet and they can have one they want.
If doing baked potatoes or sweet potatoes I cook them in the microwave. 8-12 minutes for small and 15-20 for large baking ones. Steaming some broccoli takes very little time on the stove. Also making up a fresh veggie relish tray pleases my family at gatherings. If ranch dip is too tempting then consider salsa instead. My fallback is always sandwiches as I can prep them ahead or in minutes if needed. Not good for Keto tho if you are doing that. Chicken and rise of not doing Keto isn’t too high in calories. 1030 per recipe of mine minus the meat. That is about 1/4 of it for a large serving.

Being kind to yourself when you are off track is important. When you let guilty feelings grow, then you are likely to throw up your hands and binge. A few off diet bites don't have to mean a whole day of eating off task. Enjoy the taste and then get back to healthy WOE.

True. You may fall off one day but tomorrow is a new day. Set a small goal for the day. Then you can increase over time. We are all cheering for you.

Lots of water, and once the sugars from the wine are out of your system, you will feel better. I always forget how tired I feel after a couple of drinks or a box of baklava. As Scarlett O'Hara says, tomorrow is another day!

Please don't beat yourself up! It's so hard to keep on course when you're so stressed, and your food and wine time with your mom sounds like it was much needed and stress relieving.
Can I suggest you check out this gal's program? I just started listening to her podcast and I love the help and encouragement. She's a life coach who lost 100lbs and has kept it off for a long time and now helps other women.

It’s ok!!! Just get back to it. I completely understand and yes everything revolves around food but you can stick to your goals and have fun. I found there are many choices available at these events that you can dabble in and still keeps your goals in check. I found tips in “food in session” podcast.
