Went to a restaurant tonight called "Mother's Daughter". It's a little hole in the wall that a few folks at the mill suggested. They also said to call ahead, they sometimes sell out of food! Oh hell yeah, my kind of joint!
Once my Uber driver dropped me off, I saw a sign out front that said "grilled salmon, and 2 sides, $7.99." Under that was, "chicken fried steak with 2 sides, $7.99"
Well, I'm looking for 2ville soon and figured I'd muddle through and call it dinner with the salmon and sides....
I was escorted to a booth, which I fit in (whoop), and shortly after being seated, a nice gent named Gerald came over, handed me a menu, and asked what I wanted to drink. I requested a water with lemon and a Crown and Diet Coke. While he was off obtaining the hydration I needed, and the other beverage I did NOT need, I went through the menu....
The special for the night was as I specified before, grilled salmon and 2 sides.... but, I saw on the menu that you could add 6 grilled shrimp to your dinner for an additional 3 bucks!
When Gerald came back and asked if I was ready to order, I told him that I wanted the grilled salmon and NO sides, but I wanted to add the shrimp. No questions, no issues, he said; "yes sir", and disappeared.
I had an awesome salmon filet, and 6 BIG shrimp that were amazing in flavor! I told him that I would PAY to know what they did to the shrimp. He laughed, loudly, and said that only the main cook knew what the shrimp, chicken, and pork chops were marinaded in.
Had I known that the shrimp would taste like it did, I would have ordered only it! OMG! It was that amazing in flavor!
For a giggle, I went to the "gym" at the hotel this morning and walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes. After I was done on the treadmill, I saw a scale over in the corner.... I went over to it and stepped on.... It said 234! LOL. I'm Guessing that some high maintenance folks will LOVE that scale, but I know that it needs some serious calibration! My last weigh in on a KNOWN scale was 305+....
Flying home tomorrow night, I'll weigh on Friday, and I feel certain that I'll be under 300 for the first time since 2007! I'm really excited to see that, and I credit quite a few here for helping me get to this point! Even if I miss it a little bit, I'm still celebrating where I am; this morning, after walking on the treadmill, I didn't have to unbutton my shorts to take them off, they pushed right on down! LOL
