WOW. I'm half the woman I once was (weight-wise), but I am so much more than I ever would have thought possible. More determined, more persevering, more happy, more healthy, more strong, more blessed in my personal relationships....

Today I weighed in at 127.7, which is almost exactly half of the 255 pounds I weighed at my highest (that I was brave enough to get on the scale, might have been even higher). I don't feel too skinny and weak like when I reached 125 for a few minutes a year or so ago (or was it 2 years?); I feel slender and strong, almost athletic.

I'm taking a rest day while I wait for a package to be delivered, which means doing housework, installing the portable air conditioner ducts, etc. If my package is delivered early enough, I'll go to 4:30 Zumba, if I feel I have the energy, or I may ride my exercise bike, just to keep my muscles and joints loose.

Sunday I went to both Pilates & Zumba, and Monday I went to Zumba Gold and a 30 minute BodyPump class. My body needs stretching, rolling, and a healthy dose or resting to recover. Hamstrings are strung tight!

In my FB motivational support group (June Jumpstart this month), I collect points for exercising, posting inspirational sayings, pictures of my smoothies, daily challenges, and a picture collage of what I eat at days end. It's fun, I take pictures of my food and exercise anyway, it keeps me focused and motivated, and creative. Creating delicious smoothies, plating my food beautifully, eating mindfully; good for my soul.

Our 5 days in Vegas went well; the heat didn't bother me too much, I swam & exercised in the pool, went to a Zumba class at 24 Hour Fitness, stretched and rolled, then went hiking in Red Rock Canyon. I put 10s of thousands of steps on my pedometer walking through casinos and on the strip. We ate a Weiss's Deli in Henderson, and I chose wisely. My greek salad was both lunch and dinner; they have humongous meals, and awesome authentic Jewish deli food and baked goods.

I had shaken smoothies for breakfast, packed healthy snacks, and made good choices when eating out. I only took a small sample of pecan brittle at the Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Botanical Garden (made my stomach hurt!), though I did split one of their caramel apples with chocolate and pecans with my partner that evening. Our trip to the M Buffet was plates full of delicious, nutritious foods (one plate full of fresh fruit). I even had a couple of their mini desserts; an exotic coconut and fruit panna cotta, and a dry coconut meringue).

I came home with a 8/10ths of a pound weight loss and a whole lot of wonderful memories (and pictures)...Not so much the condo, since we couldn't get in to our usual and stayed in an older one a little off the stip by Planet Hollywood. We made the best of it, and I even rearranged the furniture and tried the Align DVD in my new set of PiYo DVDs. Hmmm, I worked out 3 out of five days on vacation...I'm a bada$$, hahah!

The flight back was a mess. We taxied out and sat on the tarmac, hot, for longer than seemed right. Then came the announcement that there was a problem with the air conditioning, and that we had to return to the gate to have it checked out. More hot taxiing, then we had to gather our belongings and get off the plane, and wait close to the gate while they decided if the problem was something that could be fixed.

It was, and we re-boarded, and finally headed home. We were so delayed that we had to call the cat sitter from Vegas and have her keep Beau overnight. It was so good to be home!!!! Also, very good to get Beau home the next morning; there's a fuzzy hole in the house when he's not here.

I'm thinking at trying my hand at making a no-bake low-sugar healthy treat today; not sure if I'll go with the almond joy energy bites, or the healthy (Paleo) almond joy bar recipe. I need energy snacks for my Zumba Instuctor Training this coming Sunday, and I want something besides nuts and dried fruit. Must figure out a good lunch to pack, too....

Oh, I have new Zumba capris arriving today! I bought some a while back, and they were way too big and baggy. I ordered a size smaller in a different color (for less money on Amazon!), and hope they are a good fit. I'd love to have something new to wear on Sunday. I'll have to take a change of workout clothes, as we start with a Master Class, then basic learning, then a big practice session....I'm so excited!

Half the weight you once were, that's fantastic and had to take a lot of determination and commitment to do it. Congratulations and so happy for you that it's paid off in multiple ways, not just in the lbs gone.

Thank you, everyone. Tamarah Jo, I'd be happy to be your buddy. I don't get on the computer as often as I'd like, so I'm glad that we can now access this Community on our phones.
