Maybe the interviewer will think you were deep & mysterious .. and hire you for your wisdom & creativity. That's what I'd be telling myself. I live on hope.

You're doing great with the no sugar! Can you pass everyone else out cheesecake, then somehow you not have a piece? If you've ever seen the movie "Office Space", you could be Milton, standing there with no cake. I applied for a different job recently and I didn't get it either, but it's great to be open to the process and try for other new things, that's kind of what I got out of it too. I hope you get some sleep and get your fitness challenge done. :)

Haha! I agree with Mars' idea - cut the slices big and then just say 'oops! forgot to leave some for myself' If all else fails there's the honest 'none for me, thanks, baby weight...' line. I think it's good you went for the position. You definitely wouldn't get it if you didn't try!

You are hilarious! I love it. And I can relate to the candy at work thing - I have even done it myself. Bring the leftover candy to work. Sorry -my bad. Congrats on the 190!!

This time of year we have a birthday every other week in our office, and of course we always have to get cake. Last year I would nibble a piece to be polite, but this year I've just been saying "No, thank you!" very cheerfully. After a while everyone got used to it and now they just expect me to not eat cake (but I still hang around and chat).

Take a slice of cheesecake, take one bite, then put it down and leave the room.

Mmm you could always say little guy stays up even more at night if you eat sugar. Honestly, my oldest did things like that when she was tiny. I have also had interviews with different departments recently. Was finally offered one, would have liked it but the pay was the same without differential or chance for bonus in the spring. Turned it down, can't afford the decrease in pay.

Use stevia for the cheesecake so you can share it :) I am sure the right position will present itself to you when you are ready, and had a good night's sleep. I however think you should definitely write professionally.
