I'm hanging in there! 7 lbs gone. But, I still feel the same cloud of fatigue over me that I had after I lost almost 100 lbs on Atkins (and regained most). Don't get me wrong, I love Atkins, it works. I just became severely fatigued toward the end of losing that weight and didn't know why, and fell off the wagon before I could get with the dr and figure out what was going on in my body. I know that my blood sugars and cholesterol were within normal ranges, and I was able to completely get off meds for both within a few months of starting Atkins all because of Atkins. I had bloodwork done, and it came back good. I kept trying to re-start Atkins, but kept falling off the wagon (which I would have done with any weight loss program with the fatigue), so changed gears to give something else a try to get myself back on track to a healthier me. Thank goodness.

I've been testing my blood sugars daily and they are in check. Almost time to go in and have blood work done. Yuk...

I see the pulmonologist mid month to brainstorm why I am not going into REM Sleep (thus the reason for my fatigue). According to the 2 sleep studies I had done about a year ago, I do wake up 15 times an hour, and I do not experience REM Sleep, but to qualify for a CPAC Machine, you have to wake up 50 times an hour. Crazy... I can't believe this whole process has taken a year.

Since I have somewhat of an eating routine going on now, I need to start walking again! Walking is my friend and I miss it! Gotta plug in the Wii on the big screen tv so I can start doing Zumba again and do some sit-ups and push-ups daily.

Hey girl..hope you can start getting some much needed sleep...My DH has a machine...he would quit breathing at night and kept us both awake..now we both get a good nights rest unless we have a nagging cough due to a cold...I see you are on WW..I used that too and lost..may start again as I did better on it than any other plan..Have a great day :O)

I do WW with a modified Atkins. I lose better on lower carb but I know I can't live without my fruit. That's the great thing about WW, you can eat lower carb and stay on plan. Good luck!

My hubs is also on a bi-pap. He would stop breathing and wake himself up multiple, and I'm talking severely multiple times every night because he would stop breathing. For me it was the silence and then loud snoring all of a sudden that would keep me awake and then just when I'd about fall back to sleep he'd make me jump again. When he got his machine WE BOTH slept better. He won't go without it now and was told not to sleep without it. I was very fatigued at that time too as was he. He could sit in the living room talking to our kids/grandkids and fall asleep in the middle of a sentence. His dad has it too and he'd fall asleep driving. Glad you are checking with your dr about this and keeping up with your sugar and cholesterol. Getting mine checked in a couple weeks.

Bren, Becky and skwhite, Thanks for stopping by to visit, and sharing your experience with sleep! My poor husband, I feel so bad for him dealing with me waking him up. I dream about having a good night sleep. My pulmonlogy appt is Thursday, and it can't come soon enough. I do quit breathing, besides me waking myself up (prior to waking, I dream I am flying like a bird and then fall from the sky) my family has observed me when I stop breathing, then the sleep studies showed it as well. I've done it for years, even before I had a weight problem. I just don't stop breathing enough times according to the insurance standards to qualify for a machine. I'm crossing my fingers that the dr will at least let me do a trial on the machine and see if that help me sleep.

Suzi, Thanks for stopping by and sharing low carb on WW. I need to stop by and visit your food diary to see how you do it. I'm staying under 200, but feel I need to go lower as well, but first I'm going to do more exercise and walking. And, I need to get my sleep problem straightened out.
