No way am I weighing myself this morning! Yesterday was planned self destruction. A couple beers, some hot wings, tortilla chips with jalapeno cheese dip. I'm paying for it today. But hey, what the heck, it only happens once a year. I could have eaten more, but I didn't. So, I guess there is some consolation in that. The game was pretty uninteresting in the first half; Boston was running away with the game. It was almost obscene. But, after half-time, half of the stadium's lights went out and the game was delayed for about 30 minutes. Then the other team woke up. San Francisco closed the gap. It was a nail biter right down to the end. On the one hand, I was mad because it caused Boston to lose their momentum; on the other hand, if the lights hadn't gone out, it might not have ever turned into an interesting game.

I'm leaving the Land of Lincoln this Sunday to go get my truck. I have to install the trailer brake controller in the truck yet; I don't know why I've put it off so long. It makes it much easier to slow down with a heavy load using the trailer brakes instead of relying on the truck brakes alone. Guess I just felt it wasn't any big deal doing mostly local driving. I'm taking along my step-daughter's fiance, because DW insisted on it. Kind of funny really. He can't drive, so I don't know what good that's going to do. I guess they want us to do some male bonding or something. I told DW, "I can't check into the hotel with another guy." She basically told me to suck it up. I guess hunters go together and get rooms all the time. So, I got a room with two double beds. :) I know it's kind of silly anyway; Dads and sons go on trips together all the time. I don't know why that was the first thing I thought of when she said that. A macho thing, I guess.

I guess where I'm going, you can reach out your hand and shake hands with someone in Canada. I doubt there will be anyone standing there waiting for me to do that - but I could if I wanted to. :) Temperature is up above 30F today; going back down in the teens tonight. However, the forcast appears to be calling for warmer days here on out. Hope Michigan plans on doing the same. I picture myself being froze in place as I'm tying the truck onto the trailer. Maybe that's something my sidekick can do: thaw me out with a hairdryer or something if I freeze. That's silly; probably isn't anywhere to plug one in.

OK, enough of that. Got to get back to work and try to make it look like I'm an asset. Everyone have a wonderful day! Toodles.

I agree about the game. I thought that Baltimore was going to set a record for TD's, but the lights going out sure changed the momentum...almost like it was planned..wink, wink! lol Sure did get SF fired up! I did okay with my food yesterday, but perhaps that is because it was only DH and I and we made all lifestyle friendly stuff! Hope you have a great trip...stay warm and be safe.

He can't drive doesn't know how? Or, not alowed to drive? You could teach him on the way, but they time trip is over, he'll be much better off, but I think you meant the later... I hear ya on the hairdryer! That comment brought back vivid memmories when I was living in Alaska! My best friend was a hairdryer, and to this day, it still is (besides my dog)! Be careful on your drive, I hope it doesn't snow, I can just imagine that truck being burried in a foot of snow. I will send warm weather wishes your way!

DUI, Oh DUI . . . get the message. Yeah, I know him pretty well - nice guy, but can't stay out of the bars. Never grew up. Apparently, neither has my step-daughter, but it's her choice. I like a cold beer as well as anyone. But how do you ever get anything done if you live your life in a cloud? Oh well; I'm preaching to the choir here. You are all ambitious, or at least care about improving yourself, or you wouldn't be on here.

Just so he doesn't sleep all the way up there, I'm going to tell him, "Just in case I go to sleep, make sure I don't hit anything."
