Good morning, FS Warriors! My day could have started off better. Plumbing problems again. Went downstairs and the deep sink runneth over. The sink was running over because the drain was backed up again, and whenever water was run upstairs, or the dishwasher was run, then it was all backing up into the deep sink downstairs, including some of the nasty stuff from the drain pipe. So, I texted the boss and my team that I would be late, and began to do what I so dearly love to do at 6:00 in the morning - and it wasn't sleep. It took a while, but I snaked the drain, and flushed it out pretty good. I think this time it was packed food from the dishwasher, and not dog hair. I know I have to re-engineer some of the piping down there; just not ready to do it right now.

Did pretty well yesterday, making a fairly successful comeback from Sunday's gluttonous binge on hot wings, tostitos and cheese. Got on the treadmill for 40 minutes and gave her h$ll. Well, sort of. Continued my run/walk plan. I wanted to run a 5 minute mile; the spirit was willing but the flesh was weak. Settled for a 12 minute pace. My legs thanked me.

Getting ready for the trip to the Great Lake State. I've got to splice the wires for the trailer brake controller into the truck's adapter cable. I plan on doing that tonight. Then I'll take the truck and trailer out for a dry run on Saturday to make sure everything is working as it should. On an 11 hour trip northeast this time of year, you never know what kind of weather you might encounter. In a way, I'm looking forward to the trip, but on the other hand, previous experience as a tractor trailer driver tells me that it could get pretty hairy pulling 6 or 7,000 pounds back if the weather goes south on me. I'm praying for sunny skies.

I'm reminded how easy it is to lose the motivation to continue on this eating plan when you've strayed off course. Of course, I intentionally sabotaged my eating plan on Super Bowl Sunday. However, even though I knew I was going to indulge ahead of time, I still got the temptation the next day to say, "I've blown it; just give it up. Why deprive yourself when you know you're going to look back and wonder why you didn't eat that "xxxx" when you had the chance? You know it would have tasted so good." Well, because, in the long run, the benefit of not eating that "xxxx," far outweighs the temporary satisfaction that I would get if I did. And I know, even if there is a temporary gain, that if I hold true to the course I've laid out for myself, that weight and more will come off.

Well, Friends, I don't want to give Ryan eye strain here, so I'll quit rambling. Everyone have a great day!

Way-to-go on sticking to your plan even after falling off. I know it can be tough once you've had a taste of over-indulgence! Keep it up :)

Love your musings about the Superbowl meal. Will try to keep it in mind next time I'm faced with temptation - like this afternoon! And best of luck getting that truck.

I always fall into the "I screwed up, so might as well go all out" mentality... its a hard thing to get away from. So great job having your super bowl day and moving on!!
