HI! I'm Angel, married and mom of 1 son + 2 bonus children. I now have 2 beautiful grandchildren since writing this bio a few years ago
I'm very down-to-earth and open minded. I enjoy family time, party time and quiet time. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. I love rock 'n roll, and enjoy concerts. I also enjoy being creative specifically with jewelry making, drawing, painting, and writing.

Seems I lived in a whirlwind since 2020!
I turned 50 (April 2020) I was pretty close to my goal at that time.
The "pandemic" didn't bother me in a negative way, I just got careless.
Hubby and I were not working bc our store was forced to close for 3 months.
We binge watched TV, we were lazy, we snacked, we drank, just did whatever we wanted.
Then came on some old habits. Not caring about what I was eating...holidays, birthdays and other special occasions seemed frequent and it gave me an excuse to veer.

I just came back to FS 1/08/2023
Been feeling pretty yucky about weight gain. I know what to do and there's no excuse to let overeating ruin my life.

Exactly. My doctor told me 4 years ago that losing the weight helps lower A1C and also suggested 90 min per week of at least treadmill time. After losing 62lbs so far, my A1C went from 8.2 down to 5.0

HELP!!
I used to be a pasta addict. Ice cream too. I pasta with most meals and often times as a main course. Ice cream nightly. When I decided to kick diabetes, I quit (bad carbs) cold turkey. The first two days felt weird and I had a localized headache on the right side of my head that tylenol didn't seem to help. The headache was gone by day 3 and the cravings eventually subsided too. Alternatives that may help you would be~ for pasta, try zucchini noodles. Zucchini also works if you want to make a mock lasagna, just simply cut length-wise for your lasagna noodle. The zucchini really tricks your brain. If you don't like the taste of zucchini, spice it up with some olive oil and Ms. Dash. For bread (if its a sandwich type of food you're wanting) I chose Mission's low carb wraps. Yes, the carbs are there and its processed but the carbs are low, nonetheless. For sweets, maybe once a week, I'll have sugar-free jello.
