Here is a picture of me and my daughters Shelby and Jasmin. While they don't hide me completely, they hide quite a bit.

I am a 49 year old mom of 2 daughters, both grown, and I have 4 grandchildren. I work full time in an office and part time as a school bus driver. Neither of these is what I want to be when I grow up but until I decide, they pay the bills (barely) plus I don't have to leave town and could walk to work if I wanted.
I have several health issues that used to be under control but like my weight have exploded.
The support of others on this site in the past was amazing, so here I am again.

I will turn 52 at the end of the year and I hope to be at a much healthier weight with a much healthier attitude.

What has Atkins done for your Cholesterol?
It is wonderful news. I had mine checked in October and it was 264 and in may it was 230. The blood pressure is slower to come down (probably because I can't stay on track). Getting these test results reinforces why this is a great plan to be on.

is there ..........
I went to the food section and found that some of the mass produced gravies (beef) aren't really that high in carbs. I think if you are just eating a couple of tablespoons they would be okay or even a homeade kind.

Why the BMI (Body Mass Index) Chart is USELESS
I think the worst part of using the BMI is the way it skews things for children. The guidelines for kids and teenagers makes them appear obese when they obviously aren't (even to people who have a hard time seeing body image appropriately).

Low carb and hair loss??
I have the same problem and thought maybe it was because I haven't taken my vitamins like I should have. I worry about it too.
