Starving but not starving...
Is that due to nitrates being unhealthy or do they have an adverse effect on weight loss?

Three words: Bacon & cheese.

I love this idea.. thanks, I will give it a shot! I don't think there is anything in life that can't be made better with bacon and cheese Wink

My energy was a little better today and my stomach actually growled for the first time so I think there's some adjustment going on as well.

Glad to hear that the 3200 calorie-per-day suggestion (which actually came from fatsecret RDI calculator) was excessive. I don't think anything less than a trip through the drive-through would make that number feasible.

Thank you all for the suggestions, off to the grocery store to... *gulp*... find some veggies, bacon and cheese.

Whoops... thought my food entries were public... they should be now. Sorry about that.

Sounds like there is no escaping the veggie! I will have to look around for a website that may have some recipies for people who are not fond of veggies or some other alternative ways of preparing them.. You are right about having them cooked one particular way my whole life.

...any ideas?

Starving but not starving...
I definately am not getting enough calories in a day for my size... the RDI for me to loose a pound a week is 3200 calories. I have no idea how to increase this as I am satisfied and full after each of my meals and, while I can certainly eat to any excess imaginable, it seems everything I hear says stop when you are full. I also do not crave between meal snacks or late night snacks any more. I am not at all hunry during the day and sometimes even have to eat just because it is that time of the day. I had an initial result of (aparent) decreased omental fat but that has returned in the last two days (weight loss is a goal but more importantly I just want to get in to a routine of healthy eating every day, I assume the weight will follow). My energy has also dropped off. I'm sure I am starving myself but not intentionally - - I'm not at all hungry! Everyone I've talked to seems to think that I need to be getting in more protein during the day but I don't know how I'm going to acomplish this without force-feeding myself. I'm also curious if I am just experiencing an adjustment right now since this is a new way of eating for me. BTW, I absolutely hate veggies but there are a few I can eat. All leafy greens are out - I will literally gag if I put them in my mouth and if I try to actually chew and swallow the consequences are not pretty. Maybe more natural fats in my diet? Switch the lean turkey at lunch for some ham or roast beef? Ditch the low fat cheese for cheddar slices? Or just chill out and let my body adjust to the way I am eating now. Any ideas? I really don't want to develop a serious health issue from malnurishment (although walking in to my doctors office at 290lbs and telling them I need to be seen for malnurishment would give me at least a few seconds worth of giggles.) Thanks in advance for any responses Smile
