my new organic grassfed order came in and I started with making a bone broth from chicken bones. I did not do the braising or anything just threw them in the pot with a little minced garlic and 1/4 onion. both items can effect my histamine intolerance but I think it is getting a little better since my elimination diet.

this morning it was great to warm up with some broth. and fresh it has very little to no effect on me symptom wise. I wanted clean grassfed bones to chew on to get some badly needed minerals more naturally. I do enjoy chewing the bones. did you know that 100 grams of raw chicken bone (a mix and match of all types) contains 5.5 grams (5500 mg) calcium and 2.6 grams (2600 mg) phosphorus. (one whole bone equals about 18 grams) Bone broth in itself is pretty low in calcium and other minerals, great for collagen. so with eating a couple bones (most is edible) and having a couple cups of broth I am getting a power packed punch of minerals and some natural collagen. I am hoping this will help my skin issues. plus a nice way to start the morning!

today I am getting a long awaited massage! I finally found someone that is very experienced that I feel comfortable with on the phone. unfortunately she has problems with magnesium and I have a concern about the lotion she has to use. anything with almonds and or coconut makes my skin flare. she has a pretty neutral one because she needs it for herself, but all lotions have some of the properties of coconut essence.

I ate like crazy a couple days ago with high fat and did not gain an ounce, the next day I got off my macro's and ended up sky high on my protein along with those calories and gained a pound. yesterday I ate high fat again to get more level and my normal protein. lost the pound back.

It is something I am learning, I can eat more and be happier if my fat level is higher than my protein. 70% minimum. raise that protein above my level I should be at and boom! gain weight even at lower calories. knowing this is a good tool for me in my maintenance. I don't have to fast to control my weight, just reduce my protein a bit.

and I don't think my body likes pork. my legs tightened up after dinner last night, I ate a lot of pork ribs. so I may avoid it for a while and see if that is what it was. I also seasoned the slow cooker, but I did not remember having this issue when I made the beef ribs.

so hoping for a good relaxing day!

I feel much better today. I slept in until 3am and it felt good to be better rested. I ate a lot yesterday but since I have upped my fat percentage I tend to be able to eat more without a big penalty. I may push this limit to see if I am in a place where I can adjust my RDI more. It has been about a month of eating to my maintenance RDI.

I am also debating my exercise routines. I cut way back on my cardio as I felt I was getting addicted to it and honestly I was burning too many calories. I do need to test where my calorie level is going to settle.

My bowflex workouts generally cause me discomfort, the machine seems off balance and I have to put extra weight on my weaker side to try to balance things off. I tend to feel my back pulled out of correct alignment. I may have to focus on my total gym and find some weights to work out with.

and I changed my goal weight. I am in maintenance and really don't want to lose any more weight. so no sense having that lower weight set. As I develop muscle my weight can be just about anywhere. and even though I have extra fat still on my belly area I am not going to diet any more. 5'6" 60+ years old and maybe a pound off my high school weight. I am good!

I don't mind feeling sore that is a part of exercise but feeling the need to lay on the heating pad and readjusting my back is not ideal.

a positive today, my bum seems to be developing some muscles. I don't do much for my legs other than the bike, leg lifts on the bowflex and the inclined squats on the total gym. I may also have a little less droop (loose skin)in my arms.

one of those days again. I just can not get myself going. got my work done and I have to pack some fish this afternoon, but I am so sleepy and not motivated to exercise at all.

I have been eating all morning. granted I have been up since 2;30am. thank you time change. I am already over my calories for the day.

Been freaked a bit over some massive hair loss. I have been noticing losing hair the past few weeks. this weekend when I combed out my hair I had massive amounts come out.

Been thinking about it for the past two days trying to figure it out. I noticed a couple months ago that I had a ton of my hair turn grey. I did not think much about it, normally would not notice it but it was time to decide if I needed my roots done. yes I get my hair done. I had to search closely as most of it was lite colored.

Well I am guessing something from 3 months ago stressed my system badly and that turned my hair grey. Now all that grey hair is falling out.

Yes definitely freaked! so much for all my bloodwork from that time coming up perfect. Even did vitamin/mineral checks. this allergy flare up hit around that time too.

So while I don't talk about it much, my really crazy workouts burning pretty much a good portion of my intake must have stressed my old body out and even though I am eating plenty the damage was already set. I guess I just have to grin and bare it. this is why I don't want to fast, I already knew I overdid it back then. I don't need any more stress to my system.

drinking coffee which I shouldn't ready to go on a binge, but sticking to just filling my belly with my WOE food. I think the stress is making me need to eat.

I am not going to worry about the calories today. If my body wants to eat that is just the way it will be. but at least now I am finally feeling full. at least until dinner time. LOL!
