i'm 20 and a student at college studying horses. i've always been big and come from a big family. i am still living at home while i study.
i need to lose weight because i am scared i am going to become diabetic like my mum and gran. and i also need to lose weight so i can get employed at yards because most horse yards have a weight limit.

help i cant stop eating.
hiya, thanks for all the help so far.
well i'm 20 and am living at home and studying horses at college.(i would add that as part of my exercise but they dont have it as a choice. my mum makes does make dinner for me each night. and none of my family are obese but they are all large apart from my sister who can eat what she wants and stays slim. my mum has always made hearty meals, everything has potatoes, pasta or rice in it, sometimes even potatoes and pasta in some meals.
thanks for the information and i will look up some new pack lunch ideas that will have more protein in them. and ask my mum if she'll put more veg and less starch in the dinners. i'll do some research on the internet and through this site for some good recipes.
no there is no weight watchers or anything like that. i like somewhere very rural and the closest gym is 30 minutes drive away. and i'm too embarrassed to go the gym anyway.
i have 2 dogs that i can walk but it is very hard to persuade myself to go outside in the cold wet or snowy weather, to take dogs on a second walk when i know mum has already walked them.
and i'll try cutting out as much sugary and processed foods. as my mum is diabetic and one of the reasons i want to lose weight and change my life is because i am scared i will have diabetes as well. my mum and my dads mum both have it.
my other real reason for trying to lose weight is because alot of yard will not employ a girl if she weighs too much because she will be to heavy for some of their horses.
thanks for all of your advice. i'm off to go researching healthy foods and stuff. hopefully with monday i can start back on track and be eating healthy and not caving into those evil cravings that say that chocolate is all i want.

help i cant stop eating.
help, started watching what i eat and for 3 weeks i managed to keep to a healthy eating but then i just couldnt do it anymore, i couldnt keep on saying no to myself. and this week i have just crashed and cant pick myself up.
i like eating. simple as. even if it is something i dont like the taste of i will eat it just so i am eating. the only time i am not wanting food is when i am eating it. and its not even that i'm hungry, i can binge to the point where i feel ill i am that full and still i will be wanting to eat more.
i really struggle to only eat a small amount. so that i only consume 1300 calories a day. i'm a very weak willed person.
can anyone give me any tips on how to stop eating constantly.

What do you truly wish for yourself besides weight loss?
i hope that if i lose enough weight i will be more confident.
and be able to go for a night out with my friends.
because at the moment i am so self conscious about my weight and appearance that i freeze up and feel sick at the idea of going out and standing next to all my skinny pretty friends in there small dresses. so i don't go out.
and i would love to be able to just throw a dress on and go out for a laugh.
also i am a horse rider so the lighter i am on my pony's back the better.
