Because a fellow has failed once or twice or a dozen times, you don't want to set him down as a failure till he's dead or loses his courage. ~George Horace Lorimer

Since I was 8 two things kind of became clear to me. I was the only kid to wear glasses in class, and i was the biggest one too between the girls, and sometimes guys. I have had phases where i don't gain any weight and then sprouts of sudden weight gain. After doing my physical for the first time in 7-9 years, I had to face my new doctor and new goals. This is not how I want to live when I am 30. I want to be able to have a healthier lifestyle by then. Too many family members with heart problems and diabetes.

What will you do when you've reached goal that you wouldn't do now?
-Would like to do sky diving, I'm afraid my weight will cause malfunction
-Return to my Local Amusement park, and get on the crazy Frisbee ride I was kicked off because I did not fit in the seat.
-Smile while explaining to the acquaintances that never gave me the time of the day why we should remain just friends.
-Will go water rafting without the fear of falling of the boat and have to suffer with the guide struggling to pull me up, while the camera man was snapping pictures of my white butt...again
-Go clubbing and come out alone, by choice.
-Find great deals in the clearance boxes because there will be stuff of my size.
-Explain to my "best" friend, why I don't want her to be in my bridal party. (Since I apparently was too fat for her picture perfect bridal party album)

Need to know how you all stay motivated!!
I think I know how you feel Mouse, since my closest group of friends and that is 4 girls three of them are under 110 pounds and have their own schedules and paces. I think doing it alone was what kept me unmotivated for a long time. but for some reason this year, it felt different and I thing coming in terms that I did this myself, with nobody's help and the only way i can permanently change my eating habits and activity levels is by myself. Also knowing that this is a permanent thing, it help me rationalize that the bumps on the road should be written in sand and the accomplishments in stone. Just like you can't make anybody happy without being happy by yourself, you can't motivate anybody without motivating yourself first. Keep at it, and there will be a time when you won't be struggling at it and you can make a better progress and congratulations with what you done so far!!!

What do you do for a living??
I am a Customer Service Professional, My boss is trying to sell me that I should have pride and shouldn't care about the title since my job is ten times harder than a call center rep job. Yet, why do I still get paid as much as a call center rep? Good thing he made up his mind and gave me the raise I asked for. Smile

New today
Actually I was told by my sister and her friend about this site, and I had refused to join before because of the counting calories part. But I was already in the habit to login in all the time for FB, that it seemed like a wasted chance not to do the same for FS. While my sister has not stayed on like I hoped she would, I found this site very helpful to find motivation and friends that are going through the same as me. In the real world, I'm surrounded by a ton of skinny friends, so this site helps me feel like I'm not alone in my dilemma.
