5 foot two, eyes of blue, gutchie, gutchie, gutchie goo. If you're humming the tune you've just revealed that you're at least as old as me. The last time I was at goal weight was just before I started college at 38. (I'm a late bloomer). I gained more than the expected "Freshman 15" and kept gaining for 4 years. Then I moved to New Mexico from Wyoming - where my heart is - got a high-stress-sedentary job and have nearly doubled my weight. Now, I'm looking forward to retirement in about 5 years and have found myself concerned that my health might not hold out that long. I'd managed to avoid getting my cholesterol checked for several years but finally bit-the-bullet. My PCP was supportive, said it could be a lot worse, encouraged me to try to get things worked out with diet (yes, he's in favor of the Atkins program), increasing activity and Omega 3 supplements. I moved in with my Dad after Mom died 10 years ago. He had already lost 100 lbs in a year w/Atkins so I have built in support and participation so NO MORE EXCUSES! A High School reunion to look forward to next summer. If I fall off the wagon I hope someone kicks me in my more than ample behind. I hope I can make some acquaintances in the community.

SKIN SKIN AND MORE SKIN
Consider MSM, a nutritional supplement that improves tissue and cell function. Can make skin more elastic. My Dad takes it daily and his elephant-looking legs firmed up over time after a loss of 130 lbs in 1 yr. Start at a dose of 500mg per day increase weekly to 6000-8000 per day. W/lots & lots of water. More info at http://www.all-natural.com/msm.html

Net carbs
Yes, Jim. Go to your diet calendar - enter food. You'll see "adjust settings" and net carbs is an option. I'm trying to find out how to find out what the different color bars mean and what's that flickering green dot about??? I'm kinda new too. Good luck. This site is proving to be a great source of motivation, information, encouragement. Hope you find it to be so, too.

Look at My Insides!
I hope to be bragging about my insides after my check up in 3 months. That was the motivation to take the weight off. I want to be healthy when I retire in a few years so I can enjoy the fruits of my labor.
