Lost so far: 106.4 lb

Current Weight
237.6 lb
Performance: losing 3.1 lb a week

Goal Weight
190.0 lb
Still to go: 47.6 lb
Started my first real effort to diet in September 2008. I had lost my job and was over 340 lbs and saw the road in front of me could bring me two ways. I opted to take the more difficult road and I've lost over a hundred pounds and know it was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I was a devout fat secret user for a long time, but moved to a different state and got a new job and stop using the site. Summer is coming and I want to kick my diet into high gear again. So, I'm back.

I diid a very clean Atkins Induction for a good 7-8 months and that's when I lost the bulk of the weight so far. Im currently following a low carb lifestyle, not strict Atkins anymoe (not that there is anything wrong with it).

I take a good multi everyday, fish oil, now a whey protein powder and I'm thinking of adding a vit c supplement. I'm also a huge fan of coconut oil.

I should be working out more, I've got to firm up now!

Anyway, that's me.

how to get more fat in
Coconut oil is a great addition if you are looking for more healthy fat. Cooking with it is great and adds an interesting flavor - I actually add it to my morning coffee (yes, I still drink coffee, only because I'm addicted..)

1 piece of chocolate
Water is absolutly key to this working and, atleast I think, one piece of chocolate is no good. It has refined sugar which you are trying to rid your body's addiction to. Those 5-6 carbs would be much better spent on some salad, much better for you and will not slow down your weight loss. I've got a vicious sweet tooth which has been hugely reduced since starting atkins. Check out coconut oil tree bark - coconut oil, coco powder and splenda - you would be surprised how good it is, induction friendly (as long as you don't eat too much of it!), melts in your mouth and does a great job satisfying your sweet tooth. If you think one piece of chocolate a day won't hurt your diet, go back and read the book, really any book on how low carb dieting works.

Induction
I've actually been doing an extended induction - about six months now. I have been having the occasional scoop of natural peanut or almond butter. I've been thinking of moving on to OWL formally, but I do have another 70-90lbs I would like to loose and since I have a bunch to loose, I've stayed in induction. I haven't been board with the menu, but some occasional berries would be a welcome addition. I'm going back and rereading the 2 phases in DANDR and make my decision then. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Weighing in everyday
I weigh myself twice a day, before bed and when I wake up, first thing. I usually log my weight every 4 days or so - more frequently if I find I'm loosing consistantly so I can spot trends later. Always register the morning weigh in when I weigh the least. I find it useful so I can see how my body reacts to different foods I may try, and it keeps me from cheating and just trying to make it up the next day. The flux in numbers doesn't bother me.
