Well, finally seeing results after a very frustrating week! But I upped my exercise by incorporating jogging into my usually long walks. This week I changed my hikes from 3-4 miles a day to 5-7 miles a day, all done at a nice 3 1/2 mph...and saw small improvements in weight. Yesterday I kicked it up another notch, and for the first 2.7 outward leg of our trek, I did a jog/walk combo, then walked back...and today saw a .8 pound loss. I'LL TAKE IT! lol And last weekend I gained .8 pounds...and it took me all week to slowly get that pound off, so to have a loss on TOP of that pound? I'm happy with the results this week!

NOW...the biggie is NOT gaining again this weekend! Already warned the hubby, this weekend we play it straight, I'm not easing up because HE says it's the weekend, relax a little! Last week my "relaxing" only involved raising my calories up to 1500 a day, and shortening my walks to 2 miles Saturday, 4 miles Sunday, both at 3 mph...and THAT cost me a .8# gain! Nope, ain't going there again until I get to goal!

Getting a bit frustrated, I eat 1200-1500 calories a day over the weekend, and gain .8 pounds. Then for the week, I eat less than 1300 calories a day, and only lose .6 pounds after 4 days? AND I've upped the length of my hikes from 3-4 miles, to 5-7 miles a day! EVERY day. Something is wrong! All I can think of is that I've cut back TOO much on my calories...but if I let up just a tiny bit, I have a weekend of weight gain. HOW can I gain weight at under 1500 calories a day? And yes, everything that enters my mouth is weighed or measured or counted. NOTHING is left out of my logs. Ok, I lie, I don't log spices like thyme, rosemary, oregano, basil, cumin...*deep sigh* I was under the assumption that you had to eat an extra 3k calories to gain 1 pound. THEY LIE! And I'm living proof. MWHAAAAA. :-(
