I'm a recently divorced 61 year old mom and nana. By day, I work for a private investigator and in my spare time I paint silk wall hangings and articles of clothing.
Over the past 2 years I've gained over 40 lbs. and am currently at the highest weight of my life... 165. Being just under 5'0 tall,there aren't a lot of places for that weight to hide and it has impacted my self-esteem and my usual carefree attitude.
I refuse to turn in my favorite jeans and sleeveless tank tops and live my new-found life in a moo-moo. That ain't gonna happen!
I'm thrilled to have found this community filled with people from all over the world who are willing to share their stories, their suggestions and more importantly, their encouragement.

Need ideas for more PROTEIN please!
I buy plain yogurt. No sugars or flavoring.Scoop out a 1/2 cup, add 1/2 sliced banana, a bit of chopped, toasted almonds or granola and a tbls. of real honey (melted in the microwave). It's delicious for breakfast and satisfies my morning sweet-tooth while giving me enough protein to last me until lunch.
