Starting Over

It's been a very rough 3 years:
5 family deaths & 1 best friend death. 4 deaths were unexpected.
Pending lawsuits for 1 of the deaths.
Currently 2 elderly family members (spouses) are not doing well, with serious financial problems.
A couple of minor injuries deterred my desire/ability to exercise.
I'm stressed everywhere I turn.

With all of the above stress, plus more, I just gave up my WOE. It felt easier to cope with all my stress by not thinking about what I was eating.

Hopefully I can manage to start some self-care now. A friend at work is going to be my weight-loss buddy :) Hopefully we can encourage each other to stay on track :D

Plans:
Haircut
Pedicure
Restart WOE
Join Food Tracking Challenge (starts in 4 days)
Drink more water
Cheer for my buddy!

Wish me luck, I need all I can get ;)

I forgot to say that my temperature has been pretty low (ranging from 95.7 to 97.8) and I always feel tired. This is going to be a challenge for me, but something has to change.

I'm sorry for all of your losses. It really can overwhelm you going through so much loss. All the more reason though to take care of yourself. Exercise can really help. We are all here for you. Stay tuned in and track food and activity. It makes all the difference.

I'm sorry to hear about your losses. That's truly tragic. I don't recommend that you try a low-carb diet because carbs supply fuel to your body. Forget what you have heard about cabrs instantly turning into sugar when it hits the bloodstream, that's not true (unless it was a simple saccaride carb such as sugar). Long and complex carbohydrates provide long-term fuel to the body. Without this fuel, the body will search for other sources of energu. In the end, the body will use up all the calories you take in, but if the calories mostly or completely make up protien and fat, then the body will start to burn body fat for fuel. In the short term, this is good because it accelerates the fat-loss process, but when fat tissue runs out, the body starts to burn muscle tissue. This results in the body being weaker and having a much slower metablosim, leading to the restorage of body fat and ultimately back to square one. This process is accelerated even faster when you consume less calories and when a person excercises either too little or too much. I recommend just goong sugar-free (that includes natural sugars, too). Try to keep your sugar intake below 36 grams per 2000 calories. Good luck, I'm praying for you!

My dear grandparents and mother all died within a two-year period, so I know the kind of grief you're suffering, Lambie. Please accept my sympathy for all your losses. Kudos to you for getting up again. Best wishes for success!
