mms0823's Journal, 12 February 2010

Alright, so I totally pigged out yesterday. I just have been really down this week. I haven't had a lot of motivation and the scale wasn't going down, so I think it just made me want to eat. But that's okay because 1 bad day won't keep me from doing good today and even though I stuffed my face yesterday ... I still worked out and here I am this morning working out again. So my question is ... do any of you never fall into temptation to stuff your face? If so, how do you avoid that temptation? I mean, I don't do it often ... but every 3 weeks or so ... I will just want to binge. How do I keep myself from doing that or should I just be okay with it as long as I jump back on the horse the next day?

be patient with yourself, the process of changing the way your body reacts to food takes time. I know how u feel totally coz my body has tested me so much. I gain weight every other week nomatter what I do, but every other week, I lose much more than I gain. Its ok to indulge, try to look for lower calorie options. I have a sweet tooth & recently discovered vanilla pudding cups for 60calories & 5calorie jello cups. I can cheat 65 calories into my jenny menu everyday & still continue to lose weight. I have no doubt you can lose the weight. Keep going..

We all have our hard times. Maybe you should think about what sets you off, and make note of it. That way when you feel it coming, you will be more prepared. Also, we all need to binge sometimes, so don't be to upset about it! Have a great weekend!!!

Thank you Tendai and MomofTwoGirls for making me feel normal! Yes, maybe I should keep some low cal sweets on hand for those times when I have floated outside of my body and go absolutely crazy! Hahah

The next time you float out of your body MAKE sure it's not with Shirley Mclaine! She drinks too much!

I’m trying (and quite often failing) to stop binging on chocolate so Jello is my new favourite snack, low calorie, filling and sweet. I made strawberry jello with blueberries last week and it was great. Also don’t keep anything ‘bad’ in the house then you have to travel to get it and it gives you time to think about eating it. You can do it, keep going and don’t be disheartened by a little slip up.

I leave my house if I feel I'm going to binge. Take my dogs for a walk, or if it's cold I drive to a store (non food related of course!) to just look around. I'm a big fan of the Jell-o snacks listed above though. The dark chocolate one is really really good!!

I have been holding steady and not losing - I know it's stress. I also try to go to bed early and read - maybe I'll stay up as late as usual, but once I am in bed I don't like to get up. Also, having something to drink like a smoothie makes me feel indulged but I can't drink them very fast so that tends to be fewer calories as a treat than pop-tarts or chocolate bars.
