Christinemeowk's Journal, 28 April 2016

Ugh... curiosity got the best of me and I looked a day earlier than I said I would. I cannot begin to describe the level of confusion and disappointment I'm feeling right now. Last week I lost over six... tomorrow finishes off week 3 of challenge and I'm up .8lbs???? I don't understand it at all!

Hell.. I was even using the forbidden sweetened almond milk last week and still the weight was coming off.

Eff you weight gain... eff you stupid scale!!!!
You think you're real funny huh? Well you're not gonna shake me, poopface! I'm gonna keep on doing my thang... eventually you're gonna have to reward me for it!

Go check out the top of an old post here "Why the scales can lie"...you will feel a lot better, I guarantee it. As our body changes, muscles are used, water and other factors play with the scale weight...ask HCB...she calls her scale the "idiot box". You ARE progressing!!

Don't worry about it. I can swing up to 5 pounds from day to day.

I sooooo feel your frustration! I am feeling the same way : ( Goes down and I don't know why, than I go hardcore diet and the scale doesn't move. *flips table and chairs*

1 to 3 pound swings are not unusual. You need to look at the overall trend. Gaining, losing, or steady. There will be small swings up and down, but so long as the overall trend is where you want it going, you're fine. It's like global warming. Some see a particularly cold snowy winter and say "See! Global warming is all a bunch of bull." Of course these people are ignorant (or working for the fossil fuel industry), because yes there will be ups and downs like that, but the clear overall trend looking over decades is a steady increase in the global average temperatures.

I gain and lose within 5 pounds on any given day...I can retain a lot I guess lol... I only record my new lows because of that.... don't feel down.. I woke up today at 213.2... I just weighed in at 215.6... later on tonight... who knows ... so .8? could be a host of different reasons... just stick with the plan, it will work out :)

Hang in there, it will come! I know how frustrating this diet thing gets. Maybe some IF will do the job! Keep busy, and preoccupied!

I have been doing 16:8 IF for two weeks now. I hear what you all are saying... but still, it feels like an epic smack down. Especially with the wishful crumbs the site throws out when you have a loss. With my last loss it said I'd reach my goal in 7 months if I kept up at that pace. It's like I was seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Then I continue doing my business just to see those crumbs taken away. It's super discouraging.

I only weigh in once a week and record results no matter what. Doesn't mean I don't get aggravated b/c I do. But almost always the following week gives rewards. Only if I truly was on plan. I like to play games sometimes with portion sizes. So many variables. What's your hurry anyway little cutie pie? Oh yeah, THE CHALLENGE... (Completion hehehe) keep the faith Sister.

That's COMPETITION...SPELL CHECK HORROR

I hear you Christine...these first two months are very hard with the scale giving encouragement and then taking it away...stay the course and I know you will see the changes both on and of the scale that you are expecting. Oh ya, remember to take some pictures each month to track your progress, you'll be thankful later.

You're doing great! Don't let that scale discourage you... Maybe it's new muscle from the walking? Sometimes my scale won't budge, but my pants still feel loose. Like others have said, just stay the course, and the numbers will eventually go down.

As women we have so many hormonal reasons why the scale goes up... Don't stress to hard, it will go down!

Your body changes all the time, two weeks ago I was up 3 pounds then weighed 4 days latter and was down 6 pounds, shake it off, smile you are doing great.

GOOGLE an article titled, "Why the Scale Lies" to learn more about the fluctuations. I weigh and then take the average after 7-10 days. It is more reasonable to watch for the downward trend. We all are proud of you!

Your trend is still a winner. It's a marathon . . .
