You are killing it! As my nutritionist says, it's not all about the scale!

Diana, Storm girl, Liv and Morticia thanks for the encouragement! My last thing i need to do is be consistent lifting weights. I'm only walking right now. Ahhh the progress is slow and steady. The last few weeks have been a wake up call mentally. It's ez to fall off the train and get a little lazy when we're close to goals. Oh my let's keep going!!!!!

You’ve been doing so well!

Jen i am about 6 weeks into an oatmeal experiment (for ldl numbers on new labs in a couple months) and have been gaining weight with same calories roughly. Only change, replacing protein grams with carb grams. I can only conclude that my body doesnt process carbs very well and i also know they hold more water weight than protein but it has been a fight for 6 weeks. I got all the way up to 139.8 from a low of 132.8 and am pretty frustrated. I’ve realized on the days i restrict myself by about 300 calories or so the scale moves down o so slightly . Looks like you are replacing fat with muscle else the inches would not be reducing which is awesome. Something I never had to worry about in my 40’s but it is a whole new metabolic world for me. Maybe you have something like that going on.

YOH, that is a mystery to me, carbs don't affect me that way; perhaps because I've been eating them forever (?).

maybe you're building muscle 💪

Yearofhealth23 you're gaining weight because you are now producing way more insulin to process those extra carbs. Insulin is the fat storage hormone. Search Dr Jason Fung and Obesity Code 😉

YOH, I have done the same experiment with oatmeal and also gained weight, twice! Only change was the oatmeal, no increase in calories. I find I do better limiting grains overall.

Thanks Jen will do that today. No1Greater its pretty frustrating. Im so curious to see if it makes a difference on my LDL numbers. Of course if it does then i will just have to double my walks to 8 miles a day to offset the gain as lower LDL is preferable to statins and so on.
