Been feeling a bit defeated lately after I struggled for a week to eat well and I have not been able to workout the way I’d like to. My knee continues to slow me down. After two weeks of PT, the physical therapist said that the PT was aggravating it more than helping it, so today I’m back at the doctor to get an MRI referral. I struggle with the scale so I don’t weigh and I know I’ve been off track this past week, but the number was lower than last time so I’m happy I didn’t completely derail.

Let's hope they can figure out what is wrong and get you back on track. I am glad I finally said something to my trainer about my knee and so for now I am off lunges and step-up's. He did tell me that it was a warning sign from my body and that I had reached my limit/recovery for certain sets and that I don't have an injury but I am going to do some different things and then he will add back lunges in the future but basically regress a little and start from there. The competitive part of me doesn't like it but we had a 10 hour car drive last weekend and my knee was throbbing so bad that I decided I could not handle it anymore and the thought of it getting worse made me let him know. I am already feeling better just with the changes he made.

Redporchlady Oh my goodness! YES… the long car rides! My knee locks up and needs to straighten out when I sit too long and then begins to ache. I’d like to go back to spinning and high intensity workouts, but I know I will have find what works without aggravating my knee. Hopefully the MRI gives me some answers.

Sorry you are having knee troubles. Be patient with yourself. It will get better. Good job on that loss 👏👏👏👏

Regarding your knee. You might consider less repetitive stress exercises, such as running/walking cardio and more weight training with fewer repetitions, such as squats and lunges. Yoga may help since tight muscles may be part of the issue. Best wishes on resolving your knee issues.

I have had a torn MCL in my right knee and a torn meniscus in my left knee. I struggle with it daily. I opted not to have surgery and did PT to heal. I still think I made the right decision but it's tough sometimes. I left weights 6 days a week and I wear soft knee braces. They really do help but I can always tell when I overdo as my knee will start clicking. I hope you get answers you need! My Dr also said to try yoga or Pilates. I'm not a yoga gal so I take Pilates once a week.

My good friend is a mastered physical therapist and her recommendation for almost everything is get in a pool. Another friend from the pool spent money for a PT consult and was told to get in a pool. Duh

Kenna Unfortunately pools aren’t really a thing here. Lol I live in a mountainous area and we swim mostly in the lake. (When it’s not freezing) 🥶

Diana May I ask why you opted not to have surgery? If mine is meniscus I will probably fix it. My son and husband have had that procedure and we’re so glad they had it repaired.

💗💗Thank you to everyone that posted sweet encouragement and positive suggestions on yesterday’s post. My mind has me wondering if 10ish pounds in 6 months is really a good pace for weigh loss. 🤷🏼‍♀️Although my bigger goal is to have consistent, healthy eating habits and work towards a healthy body image. I will continue with abs and arms with some knee friendly cardio for now. I just feel like I’m losing lower body muscle tone, since I stopped doing spinning. I would love to try yoga, but idk about balance on that knee. Even to contort that leg outward feels like it pops out of position.😖
