Day 3 of a planned 3 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting
Blood sugar 103 mg/dL

After my huge analysis yesterday, where I was able to clearly see that when my carbs and protein are high, I gain weight, I ended up cutting out one of my protein shakes. I will try to use half a scoop of protein powder from now on. This will cut my protein intake in half. I am also going to hit the ‘heavy cream’ harder. It causes a huge hit on calories, but, as my analysis showed me yesterday, it’s the carbs (and the high protein that turns into glucose) that has a direct correlation to my weight loss.

However, I think the reason I dropped so much weight yesterday was because I took in a huge amount of caffeine. This caused me to get dehydrated and go to the bathroom a lot as I was in a freezing cold convention hall all day.

I expect to ‘give back’ a pound or two tomorrow.

My focus now is on the three day weekend. My goal is to ‘give back’ as few pounds as possible. One option would be to still start my fast on Monday, but, I hate fasting on the weekends or holidays. I also know I always fail to eat One Meal A Day. So, my plan was to run 7 miles each day and go to the gym 2 out of the three days. Only problem is, we have 🌧 rain expected this weekend… 😒

The reason I want to lose weight is so that I have room to ‘bulk back up’. 🏋🏾 My current squat and deadlift is 200 pounds. I want to move it up to 220 pounds. To do this I must fill my 💪🏾 muscles with glycogen. To do this I must take in sufficient carbs. Carbs will make me gain weight, so I need to give myself at least 10 pounds of ‘cushion’ to work with.

If I just start trying to bulk at my current weight, I could easily hit 180 pounds. That would only be 18 pounds from making me ‘obese’ again (198 pounds). This-is-not-what-I-want…

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!

@Sweetlysad - Thanks! I have noticed your 'weight maintenance' this year has been as perfect as your weight loss was! Totally amazing... :)

Sounds to me like you have a great plan - what weight do you want to hit before you bulk up again?

@nikeit - I want to get down to 165 (my BMI weight) or lower. I mean, I REALLY want to get down to 160.. But, I would probably try for a week, fail, then if I was 165 (or below) just say 'screw it' and start a BULK Haha!

well if you limit your carb loading that will help to reduce the gain. did that orange juice not help a lot right before your workouts that Chris turned you on to?? I thought you did well on just that.

Hi, Can you copy a whole day to the next day if you eat exactly the same?

That is awesome. wanted to say thank you for posting on fasting. I have been of the bonfire mentality for to long. small meals all day was keeping me yo-yo ing. After reading some of your posts about fasting I began intermediate fasting. Eat three high fat, low carb meals between noon and 7pm. By 1am I am in fasting then waiting till noon I keep the fasting going 11hrs. Have learned more about fed states and fasting states. Thank you again. It was your posts that prompted my research. I am only 8lbs away from goal

@baskington - The orange juice was better than nothing but did not provide enough glycogen to allow me to lift heavy. Eating Frosted Flakes the night before DOES work however :)
