Yep, probably the muscles. Yesterday I did not do the treadmill and I think that's why I dropped a bit more overnight. When walking some stairs last night I realized my muscles were still sore.

yep it can be water weight if you did not over eat yesterday too much. I would expect it to drop off again over the week.

I did notice you had more protein yesterday too, maybe that was also a factor. are you still in ketosis??
16 Sep 18 by member: baskington
Yup still in ketosis. You need to listen to that podcast I posted! Omg! You can even trigger insulin eating just fat! The guy did a week at 90% fat and he was having hypoglycemia from fat because he's so resistant, has to do with glycogon and insulin. Amazing. I am pretty sure that happens to me, so the solution was to add protein. It's pretty detailed! It's a find line how much. I have run a little lower on protein in general so the addition yesterday was on purpose. I think it just made me more hungry.

baskington, I also added extra lite salt water yesterday, so maybe I don't need that much sodium as my body adjusts

Cantaloupe, you must have no idea what keto is!

nice thing about the journal, you can delete comments that are so stupid and ignorant! 😀

couple things to ponder
16 Sep 18 by member: baskington
Typo, has to do with glucagon and insulin

you can see better than I can the trend, but it seems like 2 days low protein drop in weight. maybe I am just seeing things wrongly. look at your percentage of fat to protein in those 2 days before the drop and then at the drop before that

?? What was the comment?? Not sure what you’re referencing about Keto?

Srossca the comment was my someone named "cantaloupe" lol. Said I gained weight because of bacon and butter haha

Ok, they still have Cals. Did u keep the Cals below your norm?
16 Sep 18 by member: srossca
Sroccas, I'm trying. I look at my weekly average. Still trying to figure that out. I've been listening to The Ketohacking MD and learning there are a lot of variable with so many hormones in our body. It's so complex. From adrenalin, to cortisol, to hormones in stomach that trigger being full or not, it's just not calories in clearly finding, they do count but so so many other factors and everyone is different. Yesterday I was hungry, so I went over what I wanted, but today I will fast and give my hormones a rest and see what they choose to do. I am shooting for an average of 1100

Jenjabba you were under calories too but none of that matters for the 3 pound gain, while sodium may be an issue I don't think that is a change in your normal routine. Lower fat and lower protein the two days before triggered the change I think. I don't have iTunes, but I have found I personally don't do well adding additional fat to my diet. I am getting sam's club ribeyes, super cheap compared to the supermarkets and it has more fat to them. so even if I am in the 60% range for fat to protein (generally in the 27 to 30%), it seems to keep me from being hungry which is all I care about. Just things I have found that seems to help me. I am no longer trying to lose weight, just fat. but I do lose if I accidently eat under my calories. that gain I had I think was from adding the fat now that I am looking closer at things. I got less feeling good and next day a temporary gain. so yes I agree too much fat percentage can be a problem. Maybe the 60 fat to 25 protein will work best for both of us

Srossca, sorry spelled your name wrong. I also have lupus which causes massive inflammation some days depending on my activity. I am now adding exercise which has a inflammatory effect, but still good for me, so, I'm just my body. I did best so far on carnivore but I don't want to be carnivore for ever so I'm food experimenting!

Baskington on a weekly I wasn't under calories, 1275 daily, but on a daily and on that 3 pound gain, yup I was even under my calories. Go figure
17 Sep 18 by member: jenjabba
that is exactly what I mean, averaging is a good tool, 1275 may or may not be a losing range for you depending on what you eat. I find my macro's being off what is ideal for me changes what weight I change, up or down on the same calories. You will figure it out. Just pointing out things I saw and what changes did to me. I have an inflamed system too. Just different reasons for the inflammation. though all seem to be triggered by food.

Baskington, im still thinking I do better on 60-70g protein, then make up the rest in fat. I think I do ok with olives. I always first try to get the fat from food. By this time next year, we'll know a lot more about our body. The podcasts don't need iPhone. I use android. I downloaded a podcast app, then searched The ketohacking MD. The episodes about them going high fat for a week and low fat for a week are really fascinating. They did blood work, I listened to them in 2x speed. Their summary episodes were great. They brought on a type 1 keto surgeon who really gets the body. Totally interesting.
