I'm finding eating the RDA is impossible for me. My metabolism is so slow I gain on a 1300 cal program. I didn't see real change until I move my cals down to 1100. I'm not hungry and I have so much more energy.

I feel your pain! I'm doing 1000 and there are times of hunger but I usually eat carrots or celery for snacks. That seems to keep me happy most of the time. Keep up the great work, it will happen!

I found the RDA on this app is a little too generous. I used a other calculator and its recommendations were about 200 calories less.

Same. I can eat more now that I’ve lost weight and gained some muscle, but for the first several months I had to stay at 1200 or below or I gained.

People on FS and IRL kept saying I wasn’t eating enough calories, but I was eating extremely healthy with tons of veggies and I kept great snacks on hand - yogurt and popcorn - so I wasn’t hungry. Do what works for you!

Same with me. My RDI is 1200. Actually, for me, my 'maintenance' is 30-40 carbs a day. I am actually happy wit a low RDI. I think that is what will allow me to live to be 100 :) ('flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long').

Looked up my age on the RDA table and it said 1600-1800 calories for me, which I personally feel is too high for my height. (The table I was looking at was based on life style, sex, and age.) You just need to try different diets or ideas. Find what works for you and stick with it. I do best if I keep my calories down to 1400, total fat down to 27-33 g. or as low as I can, and do 45 min. of aerobic activity after super like dancing, zumba, or kickboxing. Other people do better on a low-carb diet. Another thing that works great is a "soup and salad" diet. You eat a nice breakfast, have soup for lunch, and eat a huge salad for dinner.

the struggle is real, and while I don't quite have an answer, I certainly feel your pain.

My RDI on FS is 1900 and it's too high for my age, activity level & slow metabolism. I try to keep my calories around 1000 a day or less. It seems to be working so far. I'm also trying to limit carbs & restrict sugar due to borderline diabetic blood sugar level. Best wishes in journey.
