Hiking is so much fun, I take the kids and wear a baby carrier with a 25lb baby, I have noticed after every hike carrying her I lose weight easier, so a great suggestion is backpack up with some weight, it works!

I love love love hiking. Always tell someone where you are hiking, especially if you go alone. Don't wear earphones, always be aware of others on the trail. Wear long pants or those convertible hiking shorts/pants and hiking shoes. Spray bug repellent on hands, then apply to skin, that way you don't inhale it. Take a walking stick in case you come across any animals. And of course always have water, a hat, a snack, sunglasses. Hope I didn't over do it on the suggestions. Have a great time.😊

I love to hike! My worst experience was taking someone with me whose drive was to finish the trail as quick as possible. My goal was to just enjoy the hike and enjoy the accomplishment. Make sure if you take a partner you have the same goals! And carry lots of water because first time trail hikes can make you sweat.

make sure to take a lot of water with you. I am not much of an outside person, it is hot here. but I know when you are out there you need your hydration

Sunscreen, good shoes, a good map, and plenty of water. Let someone know that you are going, if you are heading out alone. I love hiking!

Make sure you have good hiking shoes. They make a huge difference! Plenty of water and snacks. Make sure someone knows where you will be...just in case. I put a gallon Ziploc with emergency items in my pack (band-aids, ibuprofen, wet wipes, sunscreen, bug spray, etc).
