*Deep Breath*
Today is a day I take advantage of starting over... I have done this time and time again... and failed... but I cannot let the mistakes of my past bad habits and short comings determine my future.
I need to remember this the next time I want to give in to my cravings for a cheese burger.
I've been silent, non productive, and down right lazy for way... way... way too long.
It's been reflective on my personal life as well as my public one. I've been anti social, with drawn, sad for no reason, weepy, rude (the part I detest about me the most) and angry.
And I know... I know... I know it's this weight.

I CAN'T LIVE LIKE THIS ANY MORE!!!

The few steps I have taken today I hope will propel me for a good week.

1) I some what meal prepped.
I made my lunch (was supposed to be cabbage and sausage stir fry... became cabbage and sausage stew... too many tomatoes) And for breakfast... since I actually like oatmeal... Think thin protein and fiber oatmeal w/ berries.
Dinners... I like to cook... so I'm still up in the air.. plus I know at least one day this week I'm going out... hopefully as low carb as I can.

2) I picked a work out that will make me sweat... for some this may be counter intuitive... but I get bored with the simple... going for a high paced walk or just lifting weights in a place where I feel intimidated is just going to make me run away.... straight to the arms of a loving drive thru that understands me... the plus side is I can sweat at my own pace and if I fall hopefully I can laugh at my self and not need to go to the ER....

Any body else doing /have done Body Boss??? Thoughts??

3) I am on my own... my fat friends want to stay fat... I keep reading where it says to "get support... tell friends and family what your doing" I've done that so many times I don't know if they believe me... plus I've asked about starting a group or just a couple of friends and I get shrugged off... everyone always has something
to do...
So I'm doing this on my own... sort of...
I still have FS... and the FS community
is what I always keep coming back to.

4) DietBet. Simply put... make the goals... make the money. There's accountability.. regular check ins, photos and the ability to do my own thing has me excited that things might actually be different this time.

If you have made it this far... Thank you for reading... I really appreciate your time. I would love to hear what your starting over point was like... I need all the knowledge and encouragement I can get. Xoxo.

Wow, I could have written that myself! I too am starting ... again. And I don't have anyone nearby to do this with me. But it has to be done. I like your attitude and your post this morning is inspiring. You got this! (And so do I... we can do this!)

One hour at a time. Keep things simple and be emotionally kind to yourself. I agree with MillaLite, I have made the mistake of using my energy to talk rather than do. It's like the passion and energy I need to stick to my plan is exhausted and I have nothing left for myself. That's just me though (introvert). Everyone is different, and a team approach does help many people. Sending you good thoughts! Stay true to yourself!

I just sent you a PM, but I totally feel you on this. I have tried my whole life to lose weight and realized that I couldnt make it on my own. I needed support and I needed people to be there and push me along. I am happy to say that for the first time in my life, I am truly losing weight and happy with my diet. No two people are the same, and we all need something different, but you just try to find what works for you and ROCK IT!! You can do this!!

I've probably lost over 300 pounds in my life. But then it always comes back. This past November I went riding my motorcycle with some friends. We'd all put on weight in the fall. We all felt uncomfortable. I could barely zip up my jacket, and it was/is the largest size I own. Motorcycle jackets are expensive. I did not want to buy the next size up. I decided it was "war". And so did they. (They went in the KETO direction and I went in a more balanced direction, upping protein and cutting out crap carbs like ice cream, cookies, candy, boxes of crackers at one sitting, etc.) And from that moment on I started choosing different foods. And this site is invaluable in terms of tracking and categorizing calories and macronutrients (fats/proteins/carbs). Also, the tips and support here are helpful as well. I'm 63 years old and don't really exercise much (I do dumbbells every other day and walk my dog). And the weight is coming off. I've lost 38 pounds since November 27th 2017. I started at 253 and am now 215). It can be done. As far as telling other people...I talked about it with the people who I rode with in November, and one really good friend. I waited for a month or so to talk about it with my sister, who's losing weight with Weight Watchers. Now we have a weekly update via text -- she's in Texas, I'm in Maryland. It's a double-edged sword talking about weight loss with others. It can be helpful and motivating and it can also be counterproductive. You have to gauge your situation and decide what works best for you.

I too always took the same path as you, go on a diet, lose some and then give up and put the weight back on and some. This time I decided, I was going to have a "gray" area in my life, if I messed up and had dessert it wasn't the end of the world, I was right back on it the next meal. Always before I was either black or white, I was either totally on my diet or totally off my diet. Now I have to let you know, you have to keep the treats to a minimum, but just the mental state of knowing I can have something eases my mind. I have been on my eating plan, low carb and watching the calories since August 2017 and I have lost 50 lbs. It's not a race, it's a new way of life. Good luck to you, you can do it!!!

Dietbet and similar, as I understand it, do work, so give it a go. So, it's great that you are no longer going to put up with the status-quo. We often must be driven to such a point, before we decide to act. Taking responsibility for how you got to where you are, and for who you want to be, and where you want to go in the future, is absolutely correct. The fundamental question is, what do you want? This can be a very difficult question to answer, but it sounds like you're beginning to answer that, or have answered it. For continued understanding and inspiration, you might try a new book by Jordan Peterson, 12 Rules for Life: an antidote to chaos. It might not be your cup of tea, but I understand that it is helping many to get a grip on their life, take responsibility, and move forward. It's like no other self-help book I've ever read. I'm about half-way through and find it very insightful. All the best, and we look forward to hearing great things from you!!

You can totally do it! I think the first 3 weeks is the hardest and then it becomes a habit. Make a goal to watch calories and exercise for 3 weeks...when you see the progress you make, you won’t want to quit and it will be more of a habit by then. Good luck! This FS family will be here for you!

First forgive yourself! We all break a diet. We are all imperfect. I would recommend to write a plan. For example: - what foods do I want have for healthy eating? What needs prep? What do I need to have for dinner emergency hunger ( ie nuts, fruits..) Your friends are just afraid of losing you and your friendship. Meet your friends for coffee before going for a walk. Invite them along You are strong and brave doing this!

You can do this!!! I have had, at times, zero support from family and friends. When I stumbled onto FS, that changed. Even when I took a couple of hiatuses from FS, I started back with a new attitude and more knowledge each time. A couple of people in my family now realize they have to lose weight. So now, even they give me support and notice I have lost some weight. My point is...Never give up!! Next point is... you can do this without your family or friends support. You have FS. We will be your supporting family. We want you to succeed! When you start losing you will be the envy of your overweight friends. They might start trying to sabotage you even more. Rise above it!! A major point is...do this for you, your health, and your confidence!!! The older you get the harder it will be ...so do it now!!! Read everything you can about nutrition and weight loss. Take what will apply to you that will help you stay on track. Let no one dissuade you! Everyone is different. One WOE will work for one person and will spell disaster for another. Patience, diligence and a calorie deficit will win out in the end!
