Katsolo's Journal, 21 November 2017

Last night was an interesting lesson for me. Wasn't hungry, went for walk. BF came over, we were supposed to go to dinner, but he was tired, i wasn't interested in any type of production level going out, which is all you get at about 8 around here. Didn't eat... until later. When the cravings hit. Limited myself to prosciutto, cheese, and some whipped cream later, but it was not as controlled as I have been lately and there were absolutely no veggies to fill me up. When I eat, it needs to be on a plate, I need to make note of what I'm putting in my mouth then and there, and I need to stop when I'm done or repeat the process in an organized manner. I don't think I drank anything significant once I got home either.

The good news is that the keytones are still flowing, I am noticeably less bloated, and other than last night, I'm not hungry all the time. Those little strips save me from myself.

For my body (my application, not my edict to others), HFLC isn't a eat-whatever-you-want food orgy diet. I'm trying to watch the carbs, eat my veggies, and put healthy stuff in my body. What I ate last night was low carb, but it wasn't the best for me and I should have made some scrambled eggs or something to go with it before I hit the whipped cream.

Sounds as if you're grateful that the damage was minimal - happy for you if that's the case.

You know, it wasn't even a "weight" thing... it was eating salty meats and unsweetened whipped cream. I should have planned better and made better choices. I'm trying to increase my awareness of what i put in my mouth.

You're so right. While I started keto, I thought that meat was unlimited. It was harder to dial that back than it was to give up sweets and alcohol. Now that I've adjusted to moderate protein, I really do feel better.

I had to figure out I couldn't eat the whole wheel of cheese!

Woulda, coulda, shoulda- no need to beat yourself up! Sometimes we need to try things to know whether or not it is for us. In this case, you became aware that that experience is not something you'd like to continue doing. Great! That's def something to be grateful for and now, moving forward, I bet you'll think twice before doing it again. 🙂 Sounds like you've had some experience sorting out what works for you. Keep it up!
