Have to take a week off from weight training 😧 After Sunday's workout I couldn't even lift my shoulder without hurting. This pain has been bugging me for quite a while, but I kept ignoring it by taking some Advil to get me through the workout. I better listen to my body. Will have to take it easy when doing Combat tomorrow and see what happen.

Do listen to your body! It has a lot to tell you. Maybe something is out of balance and affecting your shoulder. Do you do a good ROM/shoulder warm up before?

Hope you feel better soon. You do bring up a great point, we do have to listen to our bodies.

You will heal. Take your time and don't put a time limit on it.

I'd have the shoulder checked out. I think I hurt mine about 15 years ago on a stair stepper. I used to put it at the most difficult level but then lean really hard on the left shoulder while I used it. Years and years later, the shoulder still causes me problems.

Its been nagging me since this summer when I tried to do a "real" push-up. I should've given it a break. Each time I feel a little better I'd add more weight only to wake up with more pain and more Advil. Bad bad choice. @horseshu and @d2, sometimes our bodies just do not agree with our mind. @ Fritzy, I know what you mean. I injured my knee a few years back and it never really heal. I guess that's how it is when we get older. @Luise, Poppy, and Chesgreen, thank you!!!

Two YouTube channels Ive found helpful are 1. physicaltherapyvideo with Bob&Brad, aka the PT world's Bert&Ernie. And 2. Jeff Cavalier's ATHLEAN-X channel. Both have sections on shoulder health. Yes, I saw a pro, but these videos and exercises from a PDF I found on a U.K. PT site have helped me more. If rotator cuff issues are involved...addressing that is a discouraging time-out from strength training. I could cry. Hope strongly your pain has a simple explanation and an easy fix!

Thanks, Amanda! It's hard not to be able to do much 😟 I took time to use the heating pad today. Hopefully I can get back after a week.
