OMG! Hubby just got home. I went outside to greet him and he said who was driving in the yard? (I have a carport in the back of my house so the driveway goes back behind the gate and house) We looked and there were tire tracks leading up to my trailer, all the way in the back of the yard. Apparently when my psycho dog woke me up super early this morning it wasn't to go out, someone was trying to steal from me in MY backyard. He must have heard the dog or me and high tailed it out of there. There were leaves all over my driveway, I had just thought it was from the yard guy down one house blowing leaves into my yard. Nope, it was probably him just making sure there was cover noise so no one heard his buddy stealing my trailer. I went out and bought some locks tonight. One for the gate and one for the side gate (door between yards). I am so pissed right now, thank goodness my dog is loud enough to wake me up. Cujo (Really Bentley) did his job. Losing that trailer would crush me. It was my dad's boat trailer and after he passed I got it and made it our kayak trailer. I can not replace the memories I have with that trailer and my dad over the years. It may be time to install a camera back there also.

Glad the theft was foiled. It's such a feeling of violation when someone steals things from your yard. My beautiful turquoise canoe was stolen - such a bummer.

Close call. We have a very dark side to our house as neighbor house is not close by. My husband installed a photo cell kit on our exterior light (not one of those off-putting mega floodlights-- I hate those) for that very reason. Any exterior light can be turned into a photo cell light so it comes on at dusk.

I am so glad this did not turn into a home invasion also. Having a good dog really counts!

This is what my dogs are for .... besides being our most loving companions. We have a doggie door and a fenced yard. So they have access inside and out. Our kids are big enough to sound ferocious. LOL! Glad nothing was stolen.
