I can´t figure it out. Very disappointed- I´ve been counting calories and kept it under 1300 all the days. No cheating day, no cheating moment. Haven´t eaten sugar, pasta, corn, rice, potatoes, alcohol, sodas for over a month. Drinking so much water and tea. Being hungry the most of the time. Working out every single day more than one hour with the treadmill, the multiorgan, weights, abs... Why am I gaining weight instead of losing? disappointment

Trim healthy mama isn't just low carb. We also eat low fat higher carb. The basis behind it is when you eat high quality carbs, don't eat lots of fat. Mixing fats and carbs will stall weight loss or make you gain. Suzanne Somers even talked about that.

when you cook natural foods, you cook nutrients out of them. ^^^don't forget the proteins!

To each their own Ollie. Just keep in mind, when they fatten pigs and cows for market they feed them "healthy whole grains". I invite you to get a copy of Wheat Belly from your local library and read the science behind the way of eating. Good day! PS...Dr. William Davis, the author of Wheat Belly is a Cardiologist from Milwaukee, WI and not only talks the talk but walks the walk.

If you are already eating right and exercising, I think just be patient and let your body adjust to the change. Everyone has their own brand of 'science', but everyone's body is different. Find the right groove for you, but be kind to yourself in the process. Te fact that you have made all these good decisions is already a 'win' for you! Be proud of that.

I agree with Ollie AND Shinier. The thing is, what works for one person might NOT work for another. Science is science, yes, but there are different methods out there for losing weight and gaining weight and not every one works for every person

Maybe that's what Shinier meant by "brand of science"?

I didn't read all of the previous posts, so I apologize if I repeat something someone else has already said. This could be caused by several things... 1) exercise creates muscle which weighs more than fat. Make sure you are taking measurements. With the creation of muscle you are actually toning and may be losing inches and not pounds. By taking measurements you are encouraged by loss of inches during that time you may not be losing weight. 2) Sometimes we need to adjust our caloric intake. You may actually be eating too few calories, which can put us into a starvation mode when our bodies start to actually retain/store fat because it thinks it is starving. Increase to 1400-1500 calories a day for a week or so and see what happens. I wouldn't recommend going below 1200 cal/day 3) Make sure you are getting plenty of sleep. 7-8 hours is necessary for the body to regenerate and it makes a difference in your weight loss. Believe it or not! 4) Google LCHF Nation or any other low carb, high fat diet. You will find that when following this type of plan (or as many say "WOE"), you will not experience the hunger you are describing. You will probably find you are satiated all day long and will still lose weight. Just don't give up!
