I am so sorry for your loss! It is always hard to have to put down a pet but try to keep in mind that she had a long, well-loved life and is no longer suffering (and I do know that's easier said than done!), and you did the right thing. You will not make yourself feel better by eating badly, however, so make yourself get back on the "right path" so you can continue to take good care of your other crybabies!!

Letting go of a loved one is always so hard. Now that you are not covering up your sadness, maybe you can let those bad eating habits go too as you love the things that love you back.

It's a hard thing, grieve and mourn, we all know that they are our children disguised in fur. They love and support us unconditionally and when it's time for them to go it leaves a big empty hole in our lives. Don't try to fill up that empty hole with food, you will go into a vicious cycle of grief then guilt then grief......fill that empty hole with the love of your other fur-babies and know that the one who is gone loved you and wants the best for you. If you don't take care of you, who will be there to take care of them. Don't stuff down your sadness, let it out, feel it and let it go.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and advice. I have gotten rid of the junk food and went shopping last night for mostly fruits, vegetables, and leaner meats. My husband is on board for the cleaner healthier eating, which is a huge help. We are on track today and everyday from here on out.
