I admit it... I was hoping for a bigger loss this week. Maybe I feel it was owed to me because I was so good on Mother's Day, LOL. In any case, I'm keeping my eye on the graph. Even an ounce is a victory in the battle.

Since we're heading for summer vacations and BBQs, I'm encouraged that I'm already giving thought to how I will handle those situations. In the past, I'd go off my current "diet" and sometimes that would mean a major derailment. Now that I consider my new eating a "lifestyle" change my thoughts are running along the lines of "What do I need to do to succeed and stay on task?" See that? Words matter. "Diet" as opposed to "Lifestyle" has put a new spin on the way I think. How about you? Do you have a plan to keep the lifestyle train on the track this summer?

heading on vacation with grandsons in 2 weeks. they are all about "dessert first, grandma". I plan on doing what I'm doing now, with some itty bitty tastes now and then. Luckily they will share so I don't have to order my own, lol! This has become a way of like for me and I feel so much better. I also know (for me) life is short and I WILL NOT obsess about food and my weight. I will enjoy myself and make good choices, or at least choices I can live with!

Keep "living" the lifestyle DA & the "diet" will take care of itself. Additionally, one pound down, is a pound to never be found. Live for losing the pound & you will succeed. It may seem tough, but you will reach the peak. Remember, building the better you is the goal; the scale may the measuring stick, but you being the person you want to be is the goal. Keep your tenacity focused on that, work with the ebb & flow of the process, & do not quit. My only plan is keep climbing every day, work through the frustrations, & DO NOT QUIT. Remember the rules. Rule #1 - We do not quit! Rule #2 - When all else fails, see Rule #1.

The only thing different for me over winter is that I'm more likely to get my walks. No ice or snow. I eat pretty much the same stuff all the time, I just get to grill now. We can't vacation so that's not an issue and even if we could it wouldn't be a problem. Dinner: meat (preferably grilled), veg, potato. Lunch: lots of fruit, milk, cheese, eggs or lean meat. I don't do breakfast. So all good for me.

My plan is to take it slow and to focus on every success instead of every failure. If I can take it slow and steady I feel that I will be more successful in keeping the weight off. I didn't eat according to my plan last week at all and normally I would be beating myself up about it. Instead I am focused on mentally celebrating that I went on a 5 mile walk with my daughters and I didn't gain any weight back over the week. I also continue to remind myself that none of the "cheat" food was worth it. I think if you avoid getting down on yourself when you indulge a little it will keep you from indulging all weekend. One meal won't make you skinny and one meal won't make you fat. :)

Think we all hope for bigger losses, at least I do! But sometimes it just doesn't happen as well I can attest. But, you my dear, have the right attitude. A small loss, no matter how small, is a victory! Here's hoping that the scale god's are more benevolent on your next weigh in...

Thanks, everyone, for all the support! I love coming here because I always leave feeling uplifted and ready to keep climbing that mountain! @April Yes, focusing on the positives is key. If we fall, we get back up and keep going, not stop and shove our faces into a cake! LOL You're right--we didn't get fat from one meal, certainly aren't getting skinny with one, it's the long term that matters. @UmmBilial That's right, any loss is great. I intend to stick to my plan 24/7 as well. @Gwen I have learned from the wonderful buddies surrounding me here that any loss is a victory. When I first started, I would get upset, but I'm getting over that. If I keep going, I'll get there. After all, I didn't get fat overnight. I spent years working on this masterpiece, LOL, and it will take some time to remold the clay. :-P

Fresh watermelon is usually part of summer BBQ's. I'd load my plate up with that and skip the potato & macaroni salads.
