Mother's Day was a success. I skipped breakfast and managed to come in under calories for the day. Took cold cuts off the bread to eat, munched on fresh veggies, and skipped dessert. I feel great today, not bloated and disgusting like I usually do after a holiday. My friends kept eyeing me oddly and commenting "No dessert AT ALL?" or "You're not going to treat yourself on Mother's Day?" Honestly, I enjoyed what I did eat and only had a few moments of longing when looking at all the treats laid out. It felt good to stick with my plan even when out somewhere and surrounded by people who don't care about my diet. Some were envious and one friend (the Debbie Downer of our group)has been gaining quite a bit of weight recently and was not very encouraging. Many of them (especially those I haven't seen for several weeks) told me how fabulous I looked and commended me for sticking to my eating plan, but Debbie Downer couldn't even bring herself to say anything nice--she just tried to talk me into eating things I wanted to avoid. :-/ I'm really happy with the way the day went.

I hope everyone else had a fab Mother's Day! If you didn't stick to your plan over the weekend, just get back on track! Don't let a momentary lapse derail all your hard work. And use Debbie Downers as a learning tool instead of allowing them to drag you under. :-)

Wonderful job! That is quite an achievement to resist treats being repeatedly offered to you. :)

Great news....don't you just love it when you stick with the plan! I know that I struggle at times with the temptation but once I overcome it, I feel like a million bucks! Best message sent to friends is that you are confident, determined, and successful. As for Debbie Downer, she can wallow in her little pity pool forever or until one day, she asks you, "how did you do it?" I was thinking about you....glad to see that you had a great day!

You did it! Holidays are hard and even harder when there are people trying to derail you, but you held strong and are reaping the reward of feeling good. Great job!

Thanks, everyone! It does feel good to stand strong--though I'm sure there will be weak moments. My hubby was getting down on himself for not losing anything this week, and I told him to keep his eye on the graph. Wish I could get him on here, but he's not into it, LOL.
