My first weigh-in shows 274 pounds on 14 Nov 2014, but I started loosing my weight back at the beginning of October 2014 when it was 286 pounds.

I recently went to the doctor for one problem and found that I have a few others that were more life threatening.
My blood pressure was through the roof, my cholesterol was rite up there with it and I seem to have a bit of a weight problem, as if I couldn't tell by looking in the mirror.

The family doctor put me on blood pressure meds, told me to loose 75 pounds and drop my sodium intake.
The Cardiologist put me on cholesterol meds and he also recommended that I follow the DASH diet.

I have a very hard time following the DASH diet completely, but I'm using it as a guide line for serving size and how many servings of different foods each day.

I watch my calories, fat, cholesterol and sodium intake and to a lesser extent my carbs making sure to get as much of the recommended 30g of fiber per day as I can.

I've been keeping my calories and sodium below 1500 per day, my cholesterol below 100mg per day and my fat below 45g.

I hope by my next blood test, that my numbers will drop like my weight has so far.

I would count it as the whole serving. Any calories you count that you don't really eat is a bonus for you.

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I weigh every "morning" (after getting moved to the night shift, morning is in the afternoon/evening).
Today though, I decided to skip for the first time in about a year.
I don't know if I should have or not, but I skipped my blood pressure for the first time in 11 months. It's been good, so I thought why not one time.
I think after loosing 75+ pounds, 1 day isn't going to kill me!

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
Every morning after a BM and before drinking & eating.
I'm afraid that if I don't keep tabs on myself, I'll get to relaxed about my diet and start to slip back into old eating habits.

Try chewing sugar free gum (like Trident).

If you keep your mouth full of gum, there's no room for food Wink

I weigh after mainly because the first thing I do in the morning is go to the bathroom.

I figure it's smart to keep up the same routine now that I've established one.....
