luvmystella's Journal, 19 June 2009

I have not been doing so well. Ever since I moved in April, I seem to have lost my drive; I have gained weight and cannot seem to get back into the mindset I had while I was losing all the weight. I am very frusterated with myself right now and more afraid than anything that I am going to continue down this slippery slope. I don't know how to re-focus myself back into counting my WW points and exercising. I know what I need to do and I have all the tools to do it, my problem is all mental. I hope I can find that spark I need to get back on path.

have u tried setting any mini-goals? that's been helping me lately. sometimes that small goal we reach helps us to get back into the game!

I used to set mini goals but I completely stopped. I think you have it right though - those mini goals really do help. I am going to start by making at least one mini goal and see if that will give me the boost of motivation I need. Thanks roxchick83!

I can totally relate to falling off the wagon from moving. You would think the hauling of boxes, packing and unpacking would result in some weight loss just from the sheer consistant movement but I found that I was skipping workouts because I didn't feel settled in my new place while things were still in boxes. I blew off working out consistently for about 2 months and ate fastfood garbage because it was cheap and easy and my kitchen wasn't unpacked. I undid ALL of the weight I had lost plus gained 5 lbs and getting the momentum back is really hard. To get out of the funk, after our housewarming party had emptied our fridge, I went to the market and bought only lean protien, fruits and veggies just to get my eating habits back on track. I also did not buy any carbs like bread, pasta or rice because I'm going to try to minimize the amount of processed carbs I eat. I packed my food for the breakfast and lunch and preplanned dinner focusing on eating more veggies and fruit than anything else. I dropped the water weight I was carrying (read 3 lbs) in the first day without being hungry at all. Anyway, just dropping a comment because I can completely relate because I was just where you were 2 days ago.

The spark is within ~you!~ It sounds cheesier than a Kraft commercial, but (speaking as a girl who has fallen off the wagon enough to be a bruise-a-saurus-rex) I believe in that inner drive. I'm not eating anything over my 30pts. from here on out to prove it til I hit my 145-150 lbs.
