The smallest change can make all the difference...like more fiber and water or a few more calories or fats....unfortunately it's a trial and error type of thing....good luck! You'll get there!

Hang in there, don't give up!

It's easy to get discouraged when you don't see the results that you think you should be getting. This is a slow process. Do you journal what you eat? I find when I do, that helps a lot!

Take a look at what you are doing. After dieting a while, we can slack. Are you tracking all your food honeslty? Bites, licks and tastes add up and can stop you from losing. Are you drinking water? Water flushes out sodium and keeps things moving. Are you getting enough lean protein and high fiber foods (unless medically unable)? Protein and high fiber foods tend to help us lose fat better than any other food groups. Are you eatin gtoo many processed foods? Proessed foods contain a lot of sodium and can inhibit weight loss in some people. Are you followin plan as written? Sometimes we start "tweaking" diets and it can work or back fire, lol! Are you being active? If you don't and can, start an exercise plan. IT helps kick up the metabolism, good for your heart and health, firms you up, burns calories, helps with stress, etc. Just get a pedometer and aim for 10,000 steps a day. Staying the same doens't have to mean anything is wrong. I had a friend stay the same weight for months but she went down in sizes. Are you following your plan 100% or are you following it sort of kind of ? Are yuou going off and on plan? Consistency is key with weight loss! Take a look at what you are doing and see if you are doing what you need to be doing to lose the weight. One lady at a Wweigh tWatchers meeting was complaining she wasn't losing any more. I told her to go back to the beginning and do the plan like it was her first week. She lost 3 pounds the next week. Sometimes it's the little changes that make a big difference.

Your doctor? They deal in pathologies. If you're not sick, don't go there. The biggest thing for me to remember is that exercise really doesn't take as many calories as we think it does. Usually we're given the calories burned PLUS what our bodies metabolism uses. That gives us a skewed idea of our energy expenditure. Treadmill readouts are notorious for this.

By the way, the idea that doctors know what they're doing with healthy people is how north America became the most medicated area of the world.

Agreed NM. Most don't I'm thankful I've been lucky and found one that wants to keep me healthy, they are rare. Most docs have little nutrition training for one.

Me too. No sense in worrying. Keep logging honest food amounts, and tweak your macros some. Might be boost you need. Though, weight loss is not linear. Could be flat or up for weeks then a huge drop. Gotta get your body use to the changes you're making.

Agreed NM, a lot of GP doctors are overweight and ill themselves. They've learned how to diagnose and prescribe meds. That's about it. When it comes to preventing and reversing chronic disease, they know less than most of us who have been researching it for years. Most doctors get ONE class on nutrition in med school. That's it.

Drop 100-200 kcal in your carb section.

So right staying the same for a time doesn't mean anything is off. Exercise can make your body retina fluid, or your body will stay the same for a while then drop.

Used to know and work with a cardio specialist MD he dies of a massive heart attack by not following his own advice in his 30's. I had part-time job--drive thru at McDonald's-- he came thru drive thru every morning ordered a sausage biscuit with sausage ad egg, sometimes 2. He told his patients to avoid them.
