January 2018

My WOE is now easy for me as it was never a diet but a plan of eating that fits me. Diets do not work. I still have a long ways to go on the fitness and it will be a lifetime to keep that fitness and weight. I used have chronic pain and what a difference!

My WOE has become increasingly vegetarian, though I still do meat now and then in small amounts. I've decreased dairy as I have found it increases asthma symptoms. I find that prepping some foods on weekends so ready for the work week is mandatory. A couple dishes that can be used for lunches and quick dinners all week is so helpful.

This journey has changed my life in so many positive ways. It's not just a weight loss journey but one to face all your demons and in the end be a more positive person feeling good about yourself and your world.

I am currently single 68 yo with 10 grandchildren (2 are steps), 3 great step great grandchildren. I live with a chatty and very onery Quaker Parrot and a little girl boston terrier mix born 3-31-13 and a hound mix rescue pup born in July 2015 and a crazy cat. Both of my pup girls are very active and funny.

I now have 4 chickens, one is a rooster and will be re-homed as I cannot keep him in the city. I still need to finish building their run this spring and put some finishing touches on their coop, and re-do the doors as I'm not happy with them. They started laying Christmas Eve so now I have totally fresh eggs.

Weight loss for pain relief
It does add up very quickly. I was heading for knee replacement surgery in 2012. Ortho doc consult said lose 50 pounds and start walking more and strength training and if you do it will probably avoid the surgery, cut out the constant pain, and you can get rid of that cane you are using some days. That was inspiration to get serious. 2018 have been on maint for several years, doc says no knee replacement, essentially no knee pain (occasionally when the weather fronts trigger the arthritis and do have a steel rod through that knee from an accident in 1986). D0 it!!!!

Daily calorie intake
I actually average mine over a week. I'm currently trying to stay around 1200 calories average per day. I'm totally back on my plan and actually cannot eat that much. so right now my month total per FS calendar is at around 1100. Go over one day adjust for a few to get your average. I had been on maintenance for over 3 years, had some health issues and gained about 10 pounds back with not being able to exercise and the meds I was on. OK by docs to go back to workouts. Actually my maintenance calories are around 1400 so not a huge difference.

Hello
AHH sounds like you are a tax preparer. I'm on the other end working in a customer service area for 47 mutual fund companies. Ours is crazy this time of year with everyone needing information. So a store, a church and taxes: you are busy!! finding time to workout and still get everything else done also is my challenge as well. I'm trying to be better at it again.

Hello
Sleep is hard sometimes. Even with just working one full time job, the overtime and keeping up with my house, animals, trying to get in exercise and healthy meals, and every other thing in a life. There never seems to be time in a day for everything. How do you do it with 3 jobs?
