Cindy Thompson's Journal, 04 March 2011

Happy Friday Everybody!

It's the weekend or I hope at least that it is the weekend for most of us. So many of my friends stopped by my journal on my last post and I want to say thank you. Ya'll are the best.

Went to the doctor this morning. Blood work results will be in next week. I'm excited to see the results of my cholesterol and other work. Wednesday I broke out in hives all over from head to toe. Starting Prednisone pack today. Will have to be careful as I know that steroids make you very hungry.

Cliff and I have been talking this weekend about my schedule in St. Louis. He really wants me to continue helping my daughter Monday through Thurday afternoon. Cliff is my spiritual head and my soul mate. I really want to do what is best for all concerned. This may not be the popular concensus but right now for the time being we are going to keep this schedule. My daughter knows that at any time we could or would have to be replaced. Not that I will ever stop being her mother, of course not. Just thought that being I asked ya'll to pray for the situation that you needed an update. She at least is now having our grandaughter with another person on Friday's. I have asked alot of my buddies during this transition and I hope that I can be there for you too. Although I may not be on the computer as much as before please know that I love each one of you dearly. My doctor told me that I was spending way to much time online. By the way my laptop is a total loss. Guess I'll have to save to buy another. Will have to journal at my daughter's work which is not easy. May just be able to enter food for the day most days while in St. Louis. I do have a personal computer at home here in Oregon, Illinois. Guess I'll have to try to catch up a little on the weekends.

I'm having a great time with my husband. Hope that all of you have a very blessed weekend and week to come. Love and Hugs{{{}}}

Will pray that the right thing comes to be for you. And I agree that being online can prevent us from living in the now for some of us, me especially. Enjoying life and living it should be a priority. Wasting too much time online anywhere stands in the way of us and reality. You have my blessings!!!! Love.

Cindy, I am so glad that you came to a mutual decision. Dan is my spiritual head and my soul mate also, and our relationship is 51-49. Your daughter is as blessed to have you, as you are to have her. God bless, sis. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the time with your husband.

Cindy, the main thing is that you and Cliff are in sync on this and your daughter and son-in-law are understanding of whatever decision you make in the future. As you have discovered, communication both ways will really serve you all well in the long run. Enjoy that extra day with your DH...hugs to ya!

Sorry to hear about the hives and prednisone- been there, done that! Maybe you'll get lucky like I did and not have the increased appetite. Hang in there and best of luck with your family situation.

Hives do not sound like fun. On t'other hand, your weight loss is spectacular. I hope everything works out.

Do you know what caused the hives? And yes, prednisone is a yucky drug. Been on it way too often with my asthma. It can indeed make you hungry, and moody, and cause weight gain even if you don't over eat. But, just know things will return to normal once you go off it. I am glad you are at peace with your decision about your daughter. Curious too as to why the doc says you are online too much. Just wondering what that is all about, but if you don't care to share, please don't. I'm asking since I spend a great deal of time at the computer too, LOL! Have a great weekend with hubby.
